Process After legal wedding in Mexico

I was told in Texas that a marriage certificate out of the states wouldn't be recognized as legal here, so either way I would have to have a legal ceremony done in Texas.

Nadenne I would double check that information. People get married out of the U.S. all the time (including in Texas) and their marriages are recognized. As long as you have a certified English copy of the marriage certificate, you should be able to take care of all of your documents. I know for a fact that you will be able to use it to change your name on your U.S. passport.

Thanks to all the lassies who posted about this. I think I am just going to bring my marriage certificate home and have it translated here, as I have heard horror stories about people waiting 6 months or longer to receive it in the mail from Mexico!
