what are your parents wearing to the ceremony?

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies!

I searched for threads, but could not find any on this topic. I was just wondering what your parents are wearing/or wore to your beach destination wedding? My BM's are wearing chiffon dresses, but they still are formal and we are having the groomsmen wear khaki pants, a white button down and a turquoise tie. My dress is the jean dress by maggie sottero, so it's more fancy and my fiance is wearing white dress pants, white dress shoes, a turquoise long sleeve button down and a white tie...and possibly a white suit coat, depending how warm it is.

My parents asked what they should wear....i told my dad khaki pants and a white polo is fine and a casual tropical dress for my mom, but should they be more formal since the rest of my wedding party is more formal, or doesnt it matter? Just wanted to get some opinions!

Thanks ladies!

We're casual too - in fact I'm wearing a multi-colored floral sundress (FI will be in khaki shorts and ivory short sleeve shirt). The moms and my sister (BM) are planning to wear summer dresses in a solid color that pick up something from my dress. We're probably all going shopping in March when more summer clothes hit the stores.

I personally do not like the look of traditional "mother of the bride" dresses. I have asked both my mom and FMIL to find long maxi dresses that would correspond with our wedding colors (bright pink and cerulean blue) - they seem to be on board with this! My daddy will be wearing a linen suit as our GM are wearing khaki pants and a blue shirt. Good luck!
