How do I tell my guests NOT to bring gifts to the DW!?

Just wondering what everyone did or plans on doing about telling your guests not to bring any type of gifts to the DW. Even though I don't expect people to bring gifts anyway (since they're traveling so far for us), I have a feeling some still will. I really don't want to have a lot of extra stuff to travel back with, and I also don't want to be carrying a lot of money with me that people may give us. We're having an AHR a couple months later, where we would prefer to have people bring gifts instead. Now I'm just trying to think of a way to let people know this. Thanks for your help!

Do you have a website? Post it on there. Or word of mouth...have your parents, grandparents, bridal party spread the word.

I sent prewedding brochures and told my guests no presents. It worked, we didn't have to bring back anything except a couple of cards. People will give you gifts anyway...

We did something similar - we sent pre-travel packets to everyone and we placed a nice note in there that said we do not want gifts that their presence is present enough. We asked that they please respect our wishes and that we will enjoy having them there with us to help celebrate. We figure our guests are spending a lot of money to travel we don't want them purchasing any gifts for us.

I did a FAQ on our wedding website & made sure to add this topic in there. I do bring it up when I talk to or run into the people that are going, I said something like "we appreciate the thoughts of gifts but your presence alone is your gift to us."
