I bought my BM Swarovski jewelery and ended up having to go to multiple stores to get 3 the same(Independant Jewelers, West Ed Mall and City Centre Mall)!  Ilove them and I hope they do too!

Just an FYI to everyone, I used Brian Napier on the weekend for our legal only ceremony and I also loved him! He made a point of calling it a "permit" and acknowledging the fact that our real wedding will be in the Dominican. Then he gave us some tips on how to stand etc for the best photo ops. I have no regreats about using him!

Hey ladies!! Just wondering if any of you are planning an "at home reception"?? What venue did you choose?

I have the Leefield hall booked (it's really nice and open with a big deck off the back) I needed a venue that would allow me to bring my own caterer (my Dad...score!) I'm just getting nervous because we could only get it for Saturday! It's going to be downright SCARY trying to deal with the clean up at the end of the night!

Anyone have any other ideas????

Thx!
Nicole

I'm having one, but its going to be in my parents back yard, so that made it easy.  I'm having my wedding in Feb and my reception in July.  Did you think about looking at maybe spruuce grove, or places just outside of Edmonton?  My girlfriend is getting married in May and got the hall for the entire weekend, I'll ask her what the price is and where its at.

That Leefield hall does look nice! Kind of expensive though. When are you having your reception? I am looking at Capilano hall, it also has a patio, I just want to actually go look at it. I also really like OTS park. Its really big, but has a wonderful park so we could be outside. I really want to have the option of being outside. I am still kind of looking though. I really need to hurry on this though places are going to start filling up. Let me know if anyone else has any ideas for an at home reception.

I never realized Leefield was SO expensive in comparison to other halls....until today.... OH MY! I'm paying $600 for SATURDAY only! If I cancel now they will give my back $300 of my deposit.  Our recption is currently booked for June 11th, 2011. I checked out Capilano hall - how many people are you having? It only has a capacity of 80! Nice deck though! I looked at OTS too. My dad catered a function there and said it was awesome! I'm just worried it's TOO big and will have to spend a fortune decorating to get the look/feel I want! I'm still looking around - I'll let you know if I find a gem! This site has been a good resource as par as capacity and facilities go...

I just came accross this site and it is AWESOME! I gave them a call to find out about a hall I was interested in and John was a dream come true! So full of information!!! You can use the site to book various halls/check dates ONLINE too! They have really good information under "Free Advice for Planning the Perfect Party!" especially concerning the bar!!!

They offer a ton of services! Catering, Bar (set up, liquor purchase AND staff!) Room Set up! Check it out!
