I thik its very nice. I would say go for it. Using various shades of the same color will give you a nice cohesive look. It is difficult to find everything of the same color. This is your wedding and plan as how you have dreamed of it. People will always have opinions but do what you like because its your wedding.

Ok, Miss Emily...here's my two-cents, for whatever it's worth:

 

It's YOUR wedding!!! You hear me, girl? YOUR DAY!! In all honesty, my thought is hey, if you want something totally crazy like miss-matched, multi-colored paper streamers, a marching band and circus clowns for your big day, you should have it and not have to explain yourself or your choices to anyone, including your dear mother!

 

With all due respect, despite what your BMs and Mom say, I think your choice of table runner is utterly fabulous, and would totally work the way you described it with the rest of your emsemble (actually, IMO, it's boring if everything is too matchy-matchy), so if YOU love it, YOU should have it. PERIOD.

 

Sorry if I seem fired up about this, but I feel very passionately that your Mom, bridesmaids, and other female relatives have either already had THEIR OWN wedding day or will in the future, and without sounding too harsh, do you honestly think they would base their decisions for THEIR Big Day on what YOU say? In all reality, probably not. They would want their wedding day to look and feel the way they want, so you should be no exception when planning yours.

 

I recommend you put your hands over your ears and go with your heart -- cause you're definitely on the best path already -- YOUR OWN!
