Unique issue with guests staying at the resort. HELP!

Recommended Posts

I would definetly consider a different resort altogether. That's what I'm doing, we're getting married in Cancun and will be there the week leading up to the wedding. 2 days after the wedding we are relocating to a different resort in Playa del carmen which is a little distance from the Cancun Hotel zone where everyone else is staying. That way we'll get away from people and have our alone time.

My only thought is that even in a perfect scenario - where all of your guests stayed at only 2 of the resorts and you stayed at the 3rd - they might still come over to the 3rd resort for the day and run into you (to take advantage of certain amenities, or simply out of curiosity at what the other resort offers). So... that still wouldnt solve your dilemma.

Perhaps if you move to a honeymoon suite and schedule private spa sessions for your entire trip or, of course, move to the other side of the island, then you'll be all set! wink.gif

I think that is fair to say but I can also see where they are comming from. They are looking at it like they traveled for your wedding and to have to move to another resort in a week can not be fun! All and all I think that they should understand that everyone needs thier privacy and thier wedding and they should be willing to understand this! I would suggest moving to a room where they dont know where you are. This way you know you will be alone!

most resorts are big enough that you don't need to hang out with all your guests the whole time you are there. if you need some time alone, then go do it. people will understand it's your weddingmoon.

you shouldn't stress about about this. i've been to destination weddings before and most of the guests mingle with each other or other guests. i don't remember ever hearing anyone say where's the bride & groom to be? we ran into them, but it wasn't forced on them. they

it's a bit rude to invite people to your destination wedding and then not want to spend at least some time with besides your wedding day. that's a lot of money people are paying to be there for you.

it also doesn't mean that you have to plan every minute of every day for you guests.

just go on the trip, and go with the flow. it's easy to run into people and easy to hide out too. that's the beauty of these places.

I'll be honest - I think its difficult to request that your guests take time off work, travel to a destination of your choosing, book at a fairly expensive resort the week of your wedding, and then ask them to make themselves scarce for your honeymoon. I do absolutely understand your frustration and desire for privacy, but also think you could end up ruffling some feathers if you tell your guests to stay at the other 2 Sandals resorts.

My suggestion would be to book your honeymoon at a completely different location in St. Lucia... I don't particularly find Sandals resorts very private anyway.

Here are a few small, private St. Lucia resorts I'm dying to stay at:

St Lucia Resort: Ladera West Indies

Ti Kaye Village, Resort & Spa

Cap Maison Luxury Villa Resort & Spa - St Lucia, Caribbean
