Nicola,

This is not true, a size 10 dress isn't really for small brides! Life isn't easy for a small bride neither. I needed to hold on every dress that I tried, if not they would fall off. This is the same dress that I posted a few page ago...a view from the back. It was a size 8.
The other girl who was trying a Pronovias dress next to my fitting room was 2 size away from the sample dress, so they pinned the dress, and she was screaming at the end as she was having an aculpuncture session for free! ouch..

Wow... I went away for spring break and missed a lot!

Your save the dates, dresses, and favors all look so great. My friend finished the file for my save the dates and we're planning to order them as magnets on vistaprint soon! Just have to get our guest list together first, with addresses and all. That's much harder than I imagined it would be, gathering so many addresses (we're inviting about 150, expecting about 70-80).

I'm actually going to have two showers... yikes! But both of my parents' families are in Pittsburgh, so they asked me to do one there so that they didn't have to all travel. My aunts are throwing that one. Then all of my friends and family friends are in DC, so that will be my "main" shower, which my MOH will throw. Both of those will be in spring 2011.

For now I have my resort/wedding date booked, photographer booked, and STDs in the works. I'm going to DC for the weekend this weekend and may do some preliminary wedding dress shopping while I'm there, on Friday. But I don't want to buy anything until the fall because I'm afraid I'll change my mind if I choose anything this early, haha. I'm very indecisive :)

I'm trying reallyyyyyyy hard to bite my tongue on all this diet talk, but I am a Registered Dietitian and am working on my Masters in Nutrition, so sometimes I can't stop myself.....

It is necessary to limit simple carbs in your diet (white bread, white pasta, white rice, sugar, etc), but you need complex carbs (wholegrains) and should never cut those out of your diet. So when you say to "limit carbs", you really should only limit the simple sugars. Limiting all carbs can lead to so many vitamin deficiencies, and worse yet, folate deficiency, which is incredibly dangerous in young women of reproductive age.

Everything that RaychelRae said about exercise and weight loss is totally correct. You cannot say that "exercise leads to weight gain"... it's just people overeating after exercising that can cause a weight gain. And also, the gaining of muscle, which anyone who doesn't exercise regularly doesn't have much of, can cause it to appear that you aren't losing as much weight. But you are losing inches. Pay less attention to the numbers on the scale and more towards what you see in the mirror, how your clothes fit, etc!!!

There is very mixed information on the link between green tea and weight loss. If you look up peer-reviewed studies from scientific journals (not just random websites on the internet), they've mostly found that if you don't normally drink caffeine, then drinking green tea does increase weight loss. If you do drink caffeine, then green tea has no effect. Therefore, its the caffeine and not the tea that is aiding in the increase of thermogenesis = fat burning. EGCG injected on its own has been shown to be an appetite suppressant, but there isn't enough of that in two cups of tea!

Sorry to go off on all of these things, but there is nothing that makes a dietitian's job harder than fad diets and misinformation! Eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day, choose whole grains and lean protein sources, get 3 servings of dairy (which HAS been linked to weight loss!), COUNT your calories, and exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes a day and you will be on the right path to weight loss!

Tifuhhknee- Congrats! on the house. Btw, which dreams are you having your wedding at? The Rivera Cancun one? If so let me know.. have you been keeping in contact with the WC?

Bonnie, Don't pay attention to the sizes when it comes to wedding dress they are way off. Plus it all depends on the designer that makes the dress too. Sometimes a size 0 is a size 4 or 6 depending who makes it.

mexbride83- You will do fine since you got plenty of time to lose weight. Sine your wedding isn't next may. I need to get my butt moving soon! Since mine is in January. You'll shed the pounds as time go by just don't go crazy with food. I used to be a runner and played soccer. So I am trying to get back in the routine again. Small meals in a healthy way.

Mexbride,
WOW...the diet/regime seems hard for people to follow, especially in the US, I almost fainted when I saw my 12 inches sub and a 16 onze steak in the US. I work in the financial services biz, so I eat out 80% of time during lunch, was fed with resto food from age of 2-3 (my dad is a chef).
5 portions of fruit and vege = I eat that...mainly vege, because I am too lazy to peel fruits..and they don't taste that good up North.

I don't eat carb, except in beer and soup noodles, the menu very blah in general....(since I was a kid, I don't like to bread, rice. ..pasta) My siblings too, somehow we don't like bread, pasta, rice..etc..we are all size 0.
lean protein, I think I am the reason why Salmon and Tuna count is decreasing every year.
Not counting my calories, I know how much approx...but if I wanna kill a HagenDaz..I will kill one pint in 30 mins. In general, I kill 2 pints per week, so far Mayan Chocolate and Rocky Road are my faves...heehee..
exercise...hmmm I do Yoga and Pilate..but definately didn't average out to 30 mins per day.
As for the Dairy products, it was mainly Calcium that cause weight losses, so if I eat vege/drink Soy, like the cows did, it will be fine. I am lactose intolerant, it gets worst with age, since I can no longer to digest lactose.

Nicyx, awww it's sad you live so far from your family. I dont know if i could be so brave and move away from mine.... We live within 5mins of both sets of parents and all my friends are local. My sister lives the furthest which is only 40mins away......

I wish you luck with your hen i'm sure you will find the perfect place for everyone. And we are here for you to chat to :o) x

I also have a few different groups of friends, completely different to each other. I'm just hoping we all mix well on the hen, i'm sure they will they are all lovely in their own right!

When i went dress shopping the samples were 8/10 so they were ok for me, but my sister is a bigger girl and she commented that it would be horrible for her to try dresses on that small. So i do think they should have a few different sizes in stores. Because we are not all the same are we girls......

mexbride83 good luck with the dress shopping let us know how you get on! I am OK with my diet but i love to hear advise about it! I am opposite to Bonnie i LOVE my carbs. Bread, pasta, pots.....yum yum. But i believe eat what you like but in moderation. Maybe i'm wrong but it works for me. If i told myself i couldn't have something i would just want it all the more. I dont pig out and i always watch my weight. I'm not tiny but not big either. I would love to lose a few inchs but it's not the end of the world for me. My FI loves me and my love handles, hee hee.... I will step up with the exercise though as it makes me feel better for it x

Linhy - 9 months!!!! Yipppeee!!!
