I have spents hours reading posts and trying to decide where we want to have the wedding. Has anyone checked in to Gran Caribe Real in Cancun for weddings? Their packages seem good online. I have to find somewhere that is reasonably priced and allows little ones for my nieces. Any tips will be much appreciated!
Hi there, I was looking into them because i fell in love with their chapel but changed my mind and went with Riu Palace Los Cabos.

Hey Sweetthang247

We are marrying at the Gran Caribe Real in November 2011 and so far the staff have been great and replied to all of our emails quite promptly, as Bonnie said their is a seperate thread on here for Gran Caribe brides which is very useful. We have decided on a beach wedding and hopefully a private reception on the villa terrace which looks lovely i have some info which has been sent to me from the hotel on menu's bouquets wedding packages etc if you want me to forward it on i would be more than happy to, good luck with your planning and hope you find a venue soon.

Love your dress, Bonnie . . . very, very unique -- and a great price! Can't wait to see you in it!

So I met with my three "mom's" today and we picked out the bridal shower venue! Remember the whole open bar dilemma I posted a few weeks back?? Well, we decided to do sangria and Corona's as our signature drinks :) I am very happy with that. Anyone that knows me knows of my love of sangria!!

The venue is beautiful and the menu looks just wonderful! Butler passed hors d'oeuvres: Assortment of bruschetta (olive, tomato and roasted pepper with feta) Soup: Cream of mushroom with pasta. Main course: Stuffed chicken breast - stuffed with spinach, garlic, & roasted pepper; Garlic whipped potatoes; and roasted vegetables. Dessert: Fresh strawberry cheesecake with chocolate sauce.

Making me hungry just thinking about it :)

We went with white table linens with criss-crossed table runners in hot pink and coral satin (our colors) and alternating coral and hot pink chair sashes.

I traced shippments and country of origin of many dresses that I found in Bridal shops here. It is like going up on the food chaine.
I would say 95%+ of them (LaSposa, Pronovias, San Patrick, Maggie Sottero...even Vera Wang) are from China, so I start to look where those manufacturers are located. Almost all of them are located in the Suzhou/Hanzhou area, where they produce silk as well. God created the world, and everything else is made in China.

I found a wedding dress manufacturer that sells to Europe and North America bridal shops, after reviewing their works and previews comments from their clients, I picked them and I sent them the pics and website where they can see the details. They were very very nice by telling me that they can make the dress, but it will require longer time because of the amount of beadings, laces, and appliques that need to be hand sewn on the tulle and on the skirt.
For my BM dresses, they charge $70 each, and will be made according to my sisters' measurements, with extra straps/belt to prevent the dress from falling off, again my sisters are very flat and skinny too.

Save me some $3000, plus alter..because of my super thin frame, I am sure I would get charge $500 to alter a standard size dress to fit me. I get an unique custom made gown and made to fit me. I will see how the dresses come out and will let you girls know!

This all sounds so lovely - you have put so much thought into your bridal shower; all your friends and family will love it.
I have to say a bridal shower seems a little more organised and extravagant than the 'hen parties' we do here in the UK.
