Art and I are getting married in Riviera Maya on 11/05/11, we just have not picked the resort yet. Any suggestions? I want it to be affordable for my guests and beautiful.. but on the beach.

Welcome Jenn! Yes, the people on this site are fabulous...not sure what I'd do without all the great advice!

 

Picking your resort is honestly going to be THE hardest part about this whole shebang. I literally searched and researched and was online pretty much non-stop for 4 months before I finally settled on one. The best thing I can recommend is to contact a travel agent. If you don't already have one, there are great TAs on this site (see banner) who know all the ins and outs of destination weddings. Tell the TA your wants/needs, and have them give you a pro and con list, and approximate price. That, for me, was what finally settled it.

I do have a travel agent, he just does not seem as helpful as I thought he would be. Hopefully, he will impress me soon!

 

Even my Mom is not as helpful as I thought though. She keeps telling me that they are all beautiful! Haha.

Becks- I LOVE your dress!! That's actually exactly what I'm looking for, a lace mermaid style dress. Maybe I will need to go to Priscilla's afterall!

 

Cjb0arder- weight watchers is great! I actually always recommend it to people because it's the exact same concept as a dietitian, except that instead of counting calories, you count points. That is much easier to do! I actually convinced my dad to go there (bc he refuses to listen to me) and he lost 40 pounds!

Does anyone know when the 2011 collection gowns will be available in stores. Fell in love with one from the Pronovias 2011 collection but I guess it may be awhile until they'll be available to try on :-s

I'm not sure when 2011 dresses are in stores but just wanted to let you know that I was told pronovias dresses can take up to a yr from the time of ordering to come in, so just keep that in mind that you'd want to order soon for your May wedding to be safe:)

My dress is pronovias as well. Don't you love them?! I ended up getting a sample though so I walked out with my dress that day (albeit about eight sizes too big)

please post the dress so we can see it! I posted mine awhile back on this thread if you're interested in seeing it.

I haven't been able to find it anywhere else but on pronovias.com. Its under the 2011 Link, Fashion Collection and the 3rd image in "Francoli". Its not an actual image that I can copy per say, so I I have no idea how I would post it :-s

But yes, I LOVE the dresses. I had my eye on one of the Manuel Mota gowns and one Elie Saab gown also from the 2010 collection but very quickly jumped ship once I found this one. I'm going to go back and try and find yours.:-)

And thank you for that tidbit about a year to get after you order! YIKES! Better get on it.
