Will I have enough time?

I'm in the process of confirming and putting down my deposits for our flight to Jamaica. We're getting married at the ROR.

 

My wedding is scheduled for Friday Nov 12th and my fiance and I were planning on flying down on Wednesday Nov 10th. I know they require you to be in Jamaica for 2 days before getting married and my TA said this should be fine but maybe I might want to consider flying down on the Tuesday instead. I don't really want to do that because it changes plans for the way back (we're flying to a different location to spend time with my family who are unable to go to Jamaica before flying back home). I only have so many vacation days available and so it complicates things if I fly out sooner - but that said, my whole reason to go is to be married and I don't want to get there to find out they won't marry us because we're not there long enough.

 

Does anyone know if I should be ok arriving on Wed for my Fri wedding or should I change my arrival date? (the wedding date can't change because it has significant meaning to us)

Hmm....I was told I HAD To come in on a Tuesday for my Friday wedding. I really didn't mind it as I feel it gives me a little more time to plan too.

I was also wondering the same thing! I'm flying in Wednesday for a Friday wedding and I was told that should be fine, but I'm nervous that one flight delay could knock me out of the 48-hour window.

Maureen is right on.....I am arriving on a Friday for a Monday wedding...ROR does not count Sundays as a day.So I had to get an exception to still be married on the Monday. It is possible but make sure you have written exception before hand....otherwise you could be in trouble. ROR seems to be very strict about their 2 day rule.

i know with our resort the arrival day does,nt count as a day so i would double check with the wc at the resort before you book the flights.

nikicrosby - I see that you're arriving on Friday for a Monday wedding. Do you know how much time you will have with the wedding coordinator? Will she be available throughout the weekend for you to meet with her to plan the wedding and the rehearsal??
