Hi ladies,

I'm wondering if anybody knows if you can drink in the RM during Easter? We unintentionally booked our wedding the day before Easter (honestly, we didn't know it was Easter weekend) at the Valentin Imperial Maya and then our TA tells us that most places in Mexico don't allow drinking Easter week because they're strongly Catholic. Not that we're alcoholics or anything, but it sure would be nice to have a drink while on vacation! Is anybody else getting married Easter weekend, or been to Mexico during Easter? Any recommendations?

--sorry if this has already been covered, I did a search and couldn't find anything.

No, it's a huge party week in Playa del Carmen. The only time when they don't sell alcohol is during election days, which can be random. A tourist has no problem drinking any day of the year because these restrictions are ignored for the tourist-centric resorts and bar/restaurants. It will be busy however, Mexico heads to the beach during Semana Santa.
