WHY the BIG price difference!?

I am getting so frustrated with the trip planning. I have family going to the Dominican from Chicago, IL and Ft. Worth, TX and it is MORE expensive for my family in Texas than for us here in Chicago.

 

My parents and brother are starting to worry they won't be able to afford the trip!

 

Can anyone tell me why it is more expensive to fly out of DFW, an international airport, than out of Chicago! Your flying further flying out of Chicago. I dont understand. And the TAs are not very helpful in TX, they are saying well it's just more expensive.

It probably has to do with how many flights out of those airport have those routes, size of plane and if that airline has a hub there.

A lot more goes into it than just distance.

In my opinion its way too early to book. My FI and I went to Key West last August to check out the venue and hotels and I didnt book until late May. Our wedding is August 20, 2010 and I advised everyone to not even think about booking until May. My Aunt is a travel agent and she said that booking 90 days out is the earliest you want to book.

Thanks Jenny! I was thinking the same thing about waiting until a couple months before.

Our wedding is 10 days apart=)!
