Help- I need ideas for a "something old" (and maybe a something borrowed).

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

So we leave for our cruise wedding first thing Friday morning, and I just realized that I am lacking my "something old".

Does anyone have any ideas? Unfortunately I don't have any jewlery that has been handed down to me at all, so that's out. My parents live in a different country and the rest of my family lives in a different province, so I can't even borrow anything old from them. sad.gif

I have all kinds of "Something New's" including my hair flowers, garter, shoes, dress, etc.

My "Something Borrowed" is supposed to be the starfish bouquet jewlery but unfortunately that hasn't arrived in the mail yet (and we only have 1 day left before we go!)

My "something Blue" is my handkerchief

I'm really stuck on ideas and would greatly appreciate any suggestions you might have for a something old and something borrowed (as a backup in case the starfish doesn't make it here)!

Thanks so much!

Kerri

You could potentially go to an antique shop to look for bouquet jewlery. I have also had friends who have used old currency - a "six pence" in the shoe of a bride is supposed to bring luck and prosterity to the marriage! Another thing I have seen brides do is to take an old photograph of their parents or grandparents on their wedding day and keep it on them throughout the ceremony. Good luck!

I know you've left already and I hope that it's going very well! However, I just had to comment to say that I love the idea of bringing a picture along. In a way, it kind of addresses both "old" and "borrowed" in some artsy fartsy way. wink.gif

I'd be anxious to find out whether your "something borrowed" ever arrived.
