Grand Palladium Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

Hi Brides :)

I have been in touch with my travel agent who has given us a good rate for the end of June, we are happy with it and getting close to booking however I have a few questions that I need help with first.

1) The TA says after we book 18 people (from the same gate way) we get the next 2 seats fee -- yet, another TA said it was after 10 people (so the 11th and 12th would be free). I am unsure that we will be getting 18 from the same gateway, so it wouldn't apply to us - has anyone had any experience with this?

2) The wedding co-ordinator has not gotten back to me about booking a date - we are requesting a Sunday (even though I am 99% sure this will not be possible), as our guests leave on the Tuesday and we would like to have a whole day after to spend with them - so Sunday would be sooo much better. Have you heard of this being possible?

3) The location of the ceremony - I really want a beach wedding as that is why I am going all the way there. All of the pictures that I have seen online are beautiful, yet all in the gazebo. Is anyone aware of beach ceremony locations at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana

4) We are planning to move to the Grand Palladium Royal Suites Turquesa for our honeymoon, so any information on that would be wonderful! :)

Wow! Lots of questions!! :) I will keep reading, but I have yet to find the answers...so I would love any feedback!!

Thanks

1 - the promos (free seats/rooms) differ from tour operator to tour operator (ie. Air transat vs. Sugnature) so any incentives will depend on who your agent and you actually book with.

2 - I am not 100% sure about vow renewals/symbolic ceremonies on Sunday - I don't see why not but the onsite coordinator will tell you for sure.

3 - I would prefer a beach ceremony too and am gettng married at Palladium Bavaro in April. I have seen pics online you just have to look harder! I think I saw the best ones on tripadvisor - good luck!

4 - Sorry - I have very limited info on the Royal Suites as they were not on our radar for any reason - they sound great form the little info I have come across.

Best Wishes! FYI - there is a whole thread dedicated to the Grand Palladium Bavaro/Punta Cana and getting married there - lots of good people and info - check it out!

Thanks for the info! I have been reading the Getting Married at GPPC thread, there are lots and lots of posts though so I'm slowly making my way through it!!

We are staying at the GPPC, but I heard that the WC is the same for the Bavaro also -- do we have the options of those sites as well? Apparently there is a really nice gazebo that looks on to the water...I would still prefer the beach, but it would be nice to have options!

Have you decided where to have your dinner yet? What time is your ceremony?

We have quite a large group going and I understand that there are only a couple options for groups over 50 people so I have not yet decided. We will go on the WC recommendation when we arrive. We have a "confirmed" time of 4pm for the ceremony which was perfect for us - I am hoping it remains unchanged for the most part. We also selected to have a private beach party after so my fingers are crossed that the weather will be perfect for such an event and we can dance away with the sand between our toes! Best Wishes - feel free to contact me direct with any other questions/feedback.

That's great! We just have our confirmed date of June 29, 2010 -- they said they would be unable to confirm a time until we arrrive, but we are asking Rick York to come and perform our symbolic ceremony, and I need to book him for a certain time. So I am unsure what to do.

I hope the weather will be good too!! I am going all the way there to have the ceremony on the beach...with my toes in the sand also!! :)

When is your wedding?

I just got back, so I have some up-to date answers to your questions, but not #1

2. If you are doing a renewal of vows, then Sunday should be OK. Carolina (the WC) will get back to you, but right now I believe she is on vacation. You will feel like she is slow to respond to emails, but once you get there you will realize why, she is extremely busy. Once you are there she will amaze you. Also, the way they do renewal of vows is so close to the real thing even you will be convinced.

3. I did a beach ceremony, you can see pics here: Flickr: Nonnie31's Photostream

It was everything I dreamed it would be! I highly recommend it. I also recommend using one of the resort's photographers, especially if you are on a budget, or don't want to worry about putting down a deposit. All of the work I saw of theirs was wonderful.

4. If you stay a 2nd week there is a good chance you will be upgraded to the royal suites free of charge. However, I would NOT encourage anyone to pay for this upgrade. My husband and I spent $360 to spend our last 3 nights there and were terribly disappointed. we were in one of the Romance suites in the Bavaro section before the move, and felt our royal room was not as nicely set up and we missed our hammock and large jacuzzi. We also felt that the service was worse, slower and not as fun as in the Bavaro section. The Royal section is also very quiet. We did like the gourmet restaurant you gain access to though.

Hope that helps, if you have any questions feel free to PM me

All the Grand Palladium resorts share restaraunts and a wedding coordinator. It ends up being like one big resort.

I had my dinner on the patio area of La Arrecife (Steak and Seafood) under a thatched roof. Carolina never gave me much options, she said our group was too small (18ppl) for La Uva, which I orginally wanted. I am happy she put us were she did, since the spot was nicer then any of the other restaurants in my opinion. Only problem is that I had to pick of the la arrecife menu and we had some non-seafood people in our group which made this difficult
