If you don't have your heart set on a particular destination, here are some things to consider:

* Cost (room and airfare)
* All-Inclusive or Not
* Proximity to Airport
* Activities in and around the destination you choose
* Kid-Friendly or Adults Only
* Sandy beach or rocky/snorkel beach
* Wedding Package options (of course!)

If it is basically just you and groomie, then it really might not matter too much. But if you are wanting a larger crowd, you might want to consider some of the above.

You could always do a sample search on something like funjet.com to see basic airfare/room rates. Then you can check tripadvisor to see the reviews. You don't want to end up in a dump

Everyone will have their preferences. I am partial to the Riviera Maya, I love it! I've been to Jamaica & the USVI & BVIs. I would love to visit the Dominican Repub. but the airfare always seems so high so we've never made it there. Good luck and happy planning!

You mentioned buying sashes at home - can you recommend a website or a place to do that?  I hadn't even thought about that but it's a great idea!!
