That is so gross! I would definatly call the builder and complain. I knew that they urinated in houses but to have bowel movements is worse. They are to gross! i am so sorry about what they did to your house. sad.gif

That is the most disgusting thing I've ever heard! You need to call and complain for sure. And if you can take pictures like the previous poster said, you should. But don't wait to call, be calm and express your concern and go to a higher level if its not resolved.

We just had our house built last year and were at the site almost every week... I never saw anything out of the ordinary other than some garbage and they cleaned it up...

Good luck!

yes I would definitely agree with the other ladies. I know what you mean about reporting it, what else could happen; but the fact is it is unsanitary and disgusting. Perhaps the builder can be held responsible for the actions of his workers in another forum, i.e. an organization that oversees a code of ethics for workers or something?

Take pictures of the mess they made with a time and date stamp, so that in the event the builder comes back and says "that wasn't MY guys" you can present him with some proof. I don't think they can lock you out of your own home either...

That is so grosse !!! I built a new house 2 years ago and wish I knew about this so I could have kept a closer eye on it. (though I did check it out alot) A friend of mine who does flooring has told me some pretty disgusting things he's found going into new homes(feces, condoms..) There should be frequent inspections...seriously would the people doing this stuff like to live in a house that it had been done in..Ughhh!

EWWW, I am so sorry you had to discover that. I would definitely call and complain; otherwise, you might be the one to have to clean it up. I agree with the other posters also--take lots of pictures just so you have proof if they give you a hard time. Hopefully, the manager (or person in charge) will be just as grossed out and ensure it never happens again.

Thanks for the support ladies. I ended up emailing the service rep to express my disgust, but now FI is upset with me, saying they (the construction guys) are going to try to get revenge on us. doh.gif

I'm hoping the supervisor will be on them now knowing that we have been checking up on the progress. If they lock us out, so be it.

This was the service rep's response:

First let me begin by extending my sincere apologies on behalf of the **** Home Corporation. Unfortunately this isn't the first time something like this has happened, and I am sure it won't be the last either.

We try to govern this as best we can, and do not look upon this lightly I assure you. Our contractors are aware that if they are caught defacing any of our properties, termination is imminent. Unfortunately people continue to use the homes as a washroom, even though we provide proper facilities for our trades to use.

Again accept my apologies. Rest assured that we will have your home cleaned up and disinfected immediately. I have already informed construction who will in turn issue the clean up.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
