Boarding pass STD and Passport Invite (DIY)

Recommended Posts

Your STD, Invites, etc came out awesome!!! I have a few questions for you if you don't mind. Did you use Photoshop to put them together or another art program? Also, where did you have the items printed? FOr your passport cover did you use a thicker cardstock?

Thanks,

Alisha

Congrats!!! :)

For the Boarding Pass STD I just used Microsoft Word (I just put a picture from their images). I got the template from someone on this message board. For the Passports I used Microsoft Powerpoint- again the template was from someone on this board. I printed them on the printer at my Fiance's office (just a laser printer). I printed on regular white cardstock I got at Target. I printed the Boarding Pass Ticket Jacket and the covers of the Passports on my regular Epson Inkjet at home. I used a thicker, textured cardstock- It's AC Cardstock Textured Solid Core Cardstock (It was on clearance at Michaels when I made these). This cardstock didn't fit into all types of printers (especially those with a tray). Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

WOW!! I love the passport invites!! I just sent out my STD's afew months ago and want to send out my invites now and wasn't sure if I wanted to go with the passport invites or something more formal, since my STD's look like little flip flops. But now that I see your I think my mind is made..not only were your invites beautiful but also had all kinds of information for your guests on them! Thanks so much for the post!! Now to start mine!!

Update- I sent out the Invitations and the response is great. People really appreciate the uniqueness of the invite and the time and effort that went into it. All I am getting is compliments. It almost makes it worth all of the cutting.

ktchi,

Thanks for posting your templete. I am now in the process of making my invites and am using yout templete. I had a question though. When I went to do a test print, the 2nd and 3rd BP image print out distorted. THe palm tree image prints out in the middle of the BP where all the wording info is at. Am i doing something wrong?

I am not sure. I just printed one out to test it and it came out alright. I had a really hard time with making everything line up and pictures go in front or in back. I would just make sure you didn't re-size the picture that goes in the background. I just put in a picture and made it as large as the template. I worked a lot with the send to front, send to back feature. I am sorry I am not more help. I am amazed it worked when I did it.
