I wonder if it will help us if his parents were to pitch in for the reception dinner instead and have everyone just go out and have fun.. or a bonfire or something.. idk.. definitely opened my mind up to some alternative thinking knowing that someone else didnt have one!!

I also struggled (and still do...) about STDs/invitations.

I just didn't "get" the whole process, as there isn't really one to follow for everyone. It's completely unique for each family situation!

We just told our closest family, and friends, and most of them have booked travel. We kind of let it "flow through the grapevine", and was thinking of sending invites about 2 months before our date, to those that are definitely coming. Announcements may be a good idea to send to the rest....

Wedding website is an excellent idea.

I sent save the date cards to several people a couple of weeks ago. I plan to only send formal invitations to those that are definitely going.

 

For the people that are not able to make it, we will have our ceremony broadcast LIVE on the Internet which is part of the package we are using at the chapel we chose.
