Getting married at the Royal Playa del Carmen

Im thinking of getting married at the Royal in Playa del Carmen. I was wondering if anyone knows if they offer room discounts for guest since we will have 50-60 people attend.

 

Also any photographer recommendations?

I am almost 98% sure, in order to do that, you would need to reserve a block of rooms, but guests would have to book the hotel stay through the hotel and thats way more pricey then doing a package deal from a TA or expedia

Hi everyone! Do you have any information on playaweddings.com? Elizabeth M was already book in April and Del Sol seems a bit expensive. (there are a bunch of PDC Royal posts so I have asked this a few places!).

That is sad that Elizabeth is already booked. Her work is simply amazing. And yes, Del Sol is pricey, but they aer worth it if it's in your budget.

Now, if that's not in your budget, have you thought about bringing down your own photographer? You can always find a photographer locally who is willing to go down, or there are a ton of wonderful options on this website. if you think about it, the price might be around the same. I paid $2500 to fly my photographer down (that included his fee, and all travel and accomodations). I paid for 4 nights at our hotel and I got 3 full days of coverage and all of the images on a disc. So it was an AMAZING deal. Perhaps it'd be something you're willing to look into.

 

As for the room discounts, do you already have a travel agent? If not, the ones on this forum are amazing because they specialize in, and in most cases had their own, destination wedding.

Prices for Del Sol depends on who is available but the least expensive deal we got was 5h for $3500 or 6h for $4200.

Are any of you ladies having an "a la carte" wedding?

I looked into the ala carte thing and it is really ridiculous. You have to pay for the wedding location $400.00 and then add a minister or judge for $400.00 and then pay $5.00 per person for chairs. Everything is separate so you really don't save money. They have a classic package for $850+the minister but you get a semi private reception for 15 people and a cake and flowers.
