How early did you pu your engagement announcement in the newspaper?

When should you put your engagement announcement in the newspaper. It looks like a lot of people do it a month or two before. Is this when you are supposed to do it, or did it take them that long to get around to it?

Around here they are put in 1-2 months before wedding...when I got married the first time, I think I did mine 2 months before.

 

Guess I will be doing it around the same time this time also!

Ours was already in - around here, the local paper puts it in when your engaged, or pretty much anytime you send it in!

Maybe its not a common thing to do in some areas. My hometown newspaper engagment section is really popular. If you don't live in town anymore, you check it online. But it seems like people don't put it in as soon as they get engaged. They wait until 2 months before the wedding. So I wondered if this was how you are supposed to do it, or if thats just when people get it done. We are taking our pictures next month so I feel like submitting it after that.

 

I'm from a small town so maybe that's why the newspaper announcements are so much fun. I always read them because I will know at least 1/4th of the people.
