SEEKING Advice on the ROR Hair Salon & Flowers???

Hi...I will be arriving in ROR March/10... Looking for advise for the following;

 

Just wondering if anyone has experienced the Hair Salon? Any suggestions or recommendation for getting my hair done for the wedding?

 

Also, flowers for my brides maids and myself? Recommendations or suggestions?

I used the hair salan and loved my hair. Granted they just styled it. I didn't have them do anything extensive. And I did go with the ROR flowers. Daisy's. Loved them too.

I got my hair done at the ROR salon too and i LOVED it (it was a really simple style)! However, keep in mind that you should definitely know exactly what you want them to do. I would also highly recommend bringing your own pictures. They have a really rough looking booklet of hairstyles to look at and choose from...but it's all cut out pictures from really old magazines.

 

I actually had a hair trial done at home and took a ton of pictures from every angle. I then printed the pics out in colour (just on my printer at home) and brought them with me. I think this really helped the hair stylist understand what I wanted.

 

I would also tell your bridesmaids to do the same thing...make sure they know exactly what they want and maybe even bring samples of pictures...

 

Also keep in mind that the area where they do hair is really small (3 people working in a VERY tight space). And they don't use curlers...just a curling iron. But they honestly do a really good job and will fix it if you don't like it.

I agree with scrouse. Take pictures and have an idea of what you want them to do. I had my hair done on December 3rd in a simple updo. The stylist did an excellent job and worked with me to keep it simple. It was very windy on the day of my wedding and I did not want my hair to hang. Also, the nail technicians and makeup person did an excellent job. I took my own makeup and she applied it beautifully....not too light or too heavy - just right. Hair, makeup, and nails are all done in the same small space. My father and DH got their beards trimmed in the same space while I was getting my nails and hair done.

 

Oh, please speak with one of the stylists when you go to the spa to confirm your appointment. I did not, and was surprised to find out that they do not wash your hair before styling it. They will if you request it and pay extra. They prefer not to wash and style the same day.....the hair doesn't style or hold as well when freshly washed. The stylists will tell you to wash your hair 1-2 days before your appointment.

 

With regards to flowers: I used Shangri-La Flowers (876-974-349 and they did a great job. I would also highly recommend Jan's Bridal & Flowers (Jans Bridal and Flowers or [email protected]). Jan's is a little less expensive than Shangri-La. In any case, the flowers are nicer and cheaper than the flowers provided by the hotel (if you want to upgrade from the free flowers). I had roses and orchids in my bouquet. Both will also provide the sand and vase for the sand ceremony at a much cheaper price than the hotel if you plan on including that in your ceremony.
