How dirty did your dress get?

Recommended Posts

For those brides that are NOT planning to take TTD pics, how dirty did your dress get during your destination wedding?

I'm having an AHR and had planned to wear something really fun, and bright, and flirty as opposed to my wedding dress. The problem is, the AHR is exactly 2 days after we return from Jamaica. According to the boutique where I am purchasing my dress, they need WAY more time than that to clean the dress (and I believe there may be a heft cost that goes along with that as well).

For the amount I'm paying for my wedding dress, I'm starting to think it would be crazy not to wear it again. I'm just unsure exactly HOW dirty it will get. I'm not doing a TTD session or anything - just wearing it for the ceremony and activities after (dinner, dancing).

Do you think if I get married at a gazebo location I'll be okay?

I did do a TTD session and my dress came out cleaner after that then it did on our wedding day.

We got married at a gazeebo too but our photos were done on the beach. Beacause my dress has a lace overlay it picked up tons of sand.

How long after you're married do you leave to come home? If you have a couple days you might want to contact your WC at the resort to see if you can have it cleaned by them. It might be cheaper and easier to do that way.

My dress was REALLY REALLY dirty. The cleaner laughed when I brought it in. It smelled real bad too cause I was sweating so much in it from dancing. We got married in a gazebo and honestly, I don't think it would've been much dirtier had we done it right on the beach.

I hate to say it but the bottom of my dress was filthy after the wedding. We got married on the beach and had a poolside reception. I did do the TTD and the dress was so clean after the session. After the session and just put the dress in the show to rinse and it was really clean.

My dress after pics before the ceremony, beach wedding, and pics on the beach was honestly not that bad. The sand was tan so it was a little dirty but not bad. However I did go in the ocean (not a TTD) but just a few shots and when I can out it was a hot mess. There was so much sand in the hem that I couldn't get out and the tan sand made the bottom brown. A lot of it came off after I let the sand dry and wiped it off but there was still a ton of sand stuck in the hem.

I didn't wear the same dress for the reception so I don't know how dirty it was get there.

Man you sure are brave. I wouldn't dare but then again, I want to be able to sell it for a TTD once I wear it for the AHR in February.

Yeah, I really had no choice. There was no way I was paying $300+ to get it dry cleaned when I only paid $450 + tax for the dress itself. I'm too practical lol. I have a front loading machine so I just threw it in there on delicate. It came out fine! Even that delicate lace train you see in my siggy was all in tact with beading and everything! Since I got such a deal on it I think I might donate it, and theres no way I was donating it smelling like dirty seaweed lol.
