YES, we do need to set a time and place for the three of us to meet up! I'm starting to freak out a little bit too!! I know it will all get done in the end but right now I feel like a total slacker and need to get moving! How big is your group?

Hair and Make-up- I originally was going to have my MOH do mine but I changed my mind just last week or so only because I thought it might be stressful for her that day and I want her to relax too. So I figured I'd just book the package for all of us so we can all just enjoy the morning but she'll still be there to "fix" anything if we don't like the way it comes out.

Ladies!

Hope your planning is going well! I keep staring at my countdown, and can't believe that it is finally getting close :)

Kristina/Jess - we will absolutely have to get together for a drink! What date do you guys arrive again?

I've been slacking on the planning for months, but feel like I've kicked into gear recently. I'm working on selecting the menu and flowers with the hotel right now....booked my hair/makeup. Our MOH and BM are a husband/wife team, so they are working on our bachelor/bachelorette parties that we're doing while we're down there. I'm not privy to the full details of the day, but it's going to include an intimate spa morning with my MOH and mother, then a sunset cruise with everyone, dinner reservation together at the resort in the Mexican restaurant, and on to some more drinks and dancing. I believe the guy's timeline is similar and on the same day, but they will do dune buggies in the morning, drinks/socializing on the beach in the afternoon, dinner in a dif. restaurant at the hotel, and then off resort to a bar or disco where they hopefully don't get into "too" much trouble! lol.

My dining table is currently a disaster of OOT stuff. I have an assembly line of sorts going, but I'm waiting on some more stock to come in on one item, and another to be shipped from China before I can complete them. I just sent out pre-travel brochures with calendar fridge magnets (free vistaprint offers! yay), and I hope people like/appreciate them. Just this past week I completed the groom/BM outfits, ordered my garters, bought my cake topper, ordered a hair flower, bridal lingerie, my MOH gifts, bought luggage, and some other things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

I feel like I'm running out of time, but think I need to take a step back and realize that all of the things left on my list are totally doable within the timeline, just have to keep organized.

My biggest things is that I really need to get in better shape...my dress was ordered to fit my bust anyways, so it will fit regardless, but I just want to look a little better so I'm happy in a bathing suit, and look fab on my wedding day. Ideally I'd love to find a way to lose 20-30lbs by the wedding, but that's just not going to happen at this point. I've ordered the 30 day shred DVD, so hopefully if I get through that twice before the wedding it will make a significant difference.

How are you ladies all doing? How many other April brides do you have on here?

Alicia

I'm arriving on the 13th.

Our OOT bags are almost done.  I keep adding things, and it's driving Bryan nuts.  I was trying to find some kind of zippered bags or first aid boxes, but couldn't find anything that I liked, so I'm in the process of sewing 14 first aid zippered pouches.  I got fed up with not being able to find exactly what I wanted, so I just decided to make it.  Our programs WERE finished, but my wicked stepmother just decided that she didn't want my dad to go alone, so now we have to re-do all of them to include her (I thought about just leaving her out, but I just don't want the drama).  Now I just need to get my bridesmaid & flower girl gifts, MOB gift, garter, cake topper, cake knife, finish the aisle decorations, re-do the programs, write my vows, decide on hair & makeup, and work on the day-of itinerary.  The wicked stepmother really threw a wrench in things.  I was so excited about having those programs done :-(

I'm losing weight....verrrrrrry sloooooowly.  But at least it's coming off.  I'm finally fitting in pants that I haven't worn since before I met Bryan, so that's a plus.  However, I still have that lovely back fat from the torturous bra/girdle thing....and I purposely refused to have my gown let out to motivate me, so I have at least 10 pounds to go before that disappears.

Alicia- the 30 day shred kicked my butt!!  that's a serious workout!!  Just be careful- she doesn't give you a lot of modifications, and it's easy to get injured (my trainer hates that DVD because of that, so I feel it's my obligation warn anyone who is about to do it).

Hi ladies - I was wondering if there was a dress code for the restaurants. I am updating my wedding website and want to let the guests know what kind of clothes they need to bring. I have not read anything on the Ocean's website requiring collared shirts, slacks, or closed toed shoes (I know a lot of resorts require this type of dress), so I am assuming people can wear whatever they want as long as it's reasonable (no swimsuits, etc). Any thoughts would be great!

It sounds like everyone's planning is coming along! I just kicked my butt back into gear and figured out groomsmen "outfits", the bridesmaid dresses just came in (I cut it kind of close!), figured out my OOT bags but still have to personalize them, finally got registered (I cut that kind of close too!), had my first dress fitting, and created a timeline for the day of. I still have to get my music figured out, make programs and my Do Not Disturb door sign, write my vows, and create our ceremony script (we are having a good friend marry us). I still feel a little overwhelmed but I have 8 weeks! Wow it's creeping up fast!

Thanks for all the great ideas ladies!

I have a question for you all. I recently booked my "complimentary wedding" at ocean blue and told yinette I would be paying for additional services because none of the wedding packages interested me. That being said, one of the additional services talked about was booking the La Brasa private reception. Nothing was ever mentioned about a minimum amount of people. I have 30 guests I total, there is now apparently a 40 person minimum to book at the labrasa. This was never mentioned to me previously, I was only told 32 pp USD. What if I had only a small amount of people attending my wedding and I bought a package like sand extravaganza that includes a private reception, would they say I couldn't have a private reception because I do not have 40 ppl? I am curious if any other brides have ran into this problem. Let me know if you have and how it was dealt with? Thanks ladies!

Hi Jessica - I am doing the Sand package and I have only 24 people coming (possibly 6 more people coming). Our package includes the reception dinner and we have La Brasa booked for no extra charge. I think you have 2 dinner location options for that package. If you go over 30 people, then it costs $32 per person. You just have to ask yourself what you want for your wedding. If you only have a few people coming, them maybe a dinner in one of the restaurants is enough. Then you can hit the bars after dinner or disco for dancing. But if you want a private reception with you own music and dancing, then you might want to go the package route. Hope that helps!

I really do not want my wedding to be a source of entertainment. Great idea on booking the 5 pm time. I was really tempted to before deciding I wanted to be able to drag the day on ;) opting for the 3pm time slot. When are you getting married? What package did you go with? I am just smoothing out all these details, I would love to hear what others are doing! Keep me posted :)

Hi again Jessica - I am getting married on Wed. Mar 27th on the beach. We booked La Brasa with the sand package and have cocktail hour included. We hired HDC photography because I read really great reviews about them. But I also saw that another bride said she was very happy with the resort photographer. We are also going with the hotel DJ. I haven't heard much about them, but I figure they do weddings all the time so it can't be that bad. Plus he sent me a list of songs that we want to hear and a do not play list. I have also emailed him and seems to "get it" if you know what I mean. I know many other brides just do the iPod thing, but I don't want to have to deal with creating a playlist and uploading it. For me, it's worth the extra $700 to have someone else deal with the music and MCing. That's just one less thing I have to do, (but I still get to micromanage). Again, it's your preference. I am also going with the basic decoration package and am not bothering with sashes, table decorations, etc.For me, the setting is enough decor. I am planning on using my bridesmaid bouquets are the center pieces (they aren't going to need them after the ceremony!) and just the plain white table cloths, so I am saving money there. I hope this helps you a little. Like I said before, it's a personal preference :) You need to think about what you want your wedding day to be like and go with it! After all, it's your day!

Hi Ladies! This thread has been super quiet! How is everyone doing?

Has anyone had any guests stay at a different resort? I have a few people who didn't book early enough and the resort is sold out the week of our wedding. I'm hoping they can get a day/night pass in advance for a few days instead of having to go through the process everyday. Anyone have any ideas how that may work?

Hi all!

I recently booked at Ocea Blue. Our wedding date is Jan3rd, 2014. Is there any other brides on here that have booked weddings through Transat? Or if someone ciuld tell me a bit about the different colour schemes they have at O.Blue it would be great! I am having a rough time getting info. from the resort.

Thanks!

We are considering this resort for our wedding hopefully in February 2014. It looks so beautiful. I was wondering if they had sent you any information on the packages and all of the extras? If yes would you possibly be able to send it to me. My email address is [email protected]. You must be so excited now that you have booked. It almost doesn't feel real to me yet. Hope to hear from your. Thanks.
