Ocean Blue & Sand-Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

Which now? They are both pretty big, but DPC is bigger and less 'pedestrian friendly' if you want to put it that way. All of the buildings on the left side (as you are looking at the ocean) are accessable only by bridges over the pool area, no walkways at all on that side. Oh, and when they say swim out rooms, they don't actually swim out. There is an offshoot of the pool that goes between 2 buildings but they don't go right to the rooms.

The great thing about OB is that there is a shuttle that goes around the resort in a loop. So after a long day, it's nice to just jump on the trolly and they will take you where you need to get to.

Let me know if you have any questions about either resort!

Thanks Debs, I was asking about Ocean Blue... I just read it from a review somewhere... I definitely scratched DPC a while back because of the pricing. I really like Ocean with the wedding packages and what's included and also the rates for our guests... I'm just trying to convince the FI that this resort is as nice as all the other ones we have considered. I guess he feels like there has to be something wrong with it since their rates as so much cheaper than others! :)

Here's a link to my webshots album with more resort pics.

So then if you are talking about OB, it's for sure smaller than DPC and also the Palladium which we stayed at one night when our flight back was cancelled. Like I said, the trolly comes in handy, especially if you have older guests, or if it's raining!

So i just got an email from Ada at OB, with some answers: they do up to 3 small weddings per day and only 2 big ones. I am not sure what she ment by small/big wedding. She also said that as of 2011 they do allow outside photographer if you pay vendor pass fee. BUT in 2012 they probably WILL NOT allow outside photographer at all. Did anyone hear that?so to me it should be either yes or no, so ppl can book or not book outsiede photographer...what do you guys think?

Ocean Blue & Sand is at the top of our list for our wedding. I've found their 2011 package prices, but haven't seen 2012 (not sure if they're available yet.)

Does anyone know if there is flexibility with the packages, or what their a la carte prices look like? We're planning on 50-60 guests.

And any convincing that this is a great option is appreciated, too :)
