Gran Bahia Principe - menu help

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. Any brides out there have any suggestions for the main course at the Garden Grill Restaurant (the steakhouse).

This resort is insane and they expect every wedding guest to eat the SAME main dish! And I don't want to make the wrong choice!

Thanks!

Jessica

Which Gran Bahia Principe resort are you getting married at and what is the date. Our wedding is at the Gran Bahia Principe Bavaro on April 15, 2010. We have choosen the Outdoor Piscis Restaurant but have not had to pick a menu yet.

Just wondering what all you have had to pick out so far as we haven't had to do much at this point. Would like to compare notes.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hey ladies!

We were married there November 16, 2009! We had a private reception at the Garden Grille (excellent choice). We chose this restaurant as it was the most "Canadian" of the options for our meat-and-potatoes kindda group:)

We paid $750 USD for the private reception which was worth every penny. We were married at the Gazebo at 4pm, took pictures after that, then the reception began at 6:30pm. Don't worry about bringing your own centrepieces, etc. That is absolute insanity to me as they do a beautiful job with flowers, decorations, etc. They do up pretty menu cards at each place setting, which was a nice touch.

Our menu:

Chicken ceasar salad for starter

Beef Vegetable soup

Grilled chicken breast, roasted potatoes with veggies

Chocolate brownie with ice cream

They also had a beautiful wedding cake which was absolutely delicious!

We brought our own IPOD with a dinner and dance playlist which I gave to the co-ordinator that morning and when we got there at 6:30pm it was all hooked up to the speakers and ready to go. That worked very well for our dance! The reception went until 10:30pm. Don't pay out extra for the bar, that is totally silly and unnecessary. Our guests couls barely take a sip out of their dinks without it beign topped up, without paying that dumb supplement.

Anyways, any questiosn you ladies have, ask away!!

hi ladies!

i am getting married at the bahia in punta cana july 2011. my FI and i did take a vaction there last year, and one of the places we eat at was the garden grill. we both had something different, and both items were fantastic. actually all the food at the resort is great! i had the pretty much what natashakc had at her wedding.

honestly i wouldnt stress to much at the food @ the garden. my FI is soooo picky with food and was very against even going anywhere tropical because of it. i finally convienced him after 3 years of always going to florida. and he loved the food!

Natashakc do you have any pics from your wedding?

Jharish what options did u have for flowers and centre peices?

I am so excited to hear that you were just married their recently. Are you planning on submitting a wedding review for the Gran Bahia Principe Bavaro. I would love to read one. I could ask many questions but just don't know where to start.

For the flowers I just told them the colours I wanted and they said they would take care of it!

The centerpieces, I just showed them a picture from the internet but I'm waiting to see how much they will charge for it.

The bouquet I also showed them a picture off the internet and they said they would do their best at no charge.

Ashley,

I will post pictures from our wedding soon! It has been so crazy-busy since we got home from our wedding! The week we got home we bought a new home, then this past Saturday had our at-home reception for 240 people. Yikes:) Stressful! But now it's all over and things are settling down, so I should have time to post shortly.

Flowers:

Patricia, the co-ordinator gave us a book of about 5 pages of flower options at our meeting. You can interchange the colours somewhat in the bouquets, and we chose bright pink and orange roses, with some other green berries or something:) They were gorgeous! The guys had hot pink roses for their bouttineers. Patricia also did up a flower basket with our flowers for my flower girl to carry, at no charge. Patricia delivered the flowers to our rooms about 1 hour before the ceremony.

They give you lots of options for the chair cover ties at the ceremony too. We chose pink chiffon ties, and they looked so pretty. They also do up the restaurant with very pretty table clothes, etc.

Robinkar,

This resort is broke down into 2 mirrow images of each other: Bavaro side and Punta Cana side. They each have their own lobby, and they each have their own upgraded, private section as well. Bavaro's is Club Diamond and Punta Cana's is Club Golden. Our group was upgraded by our travel agent from bavaro to Club Diamond, and believe me, it is worth it!! Even if you do not get the free upgrade, I highly suggest your group do the Club Diamond.

We had a group of 36, ranging from 8 yrs. old to 81 yrs. old. The Club Diamond section has it's own private pool with swim-up bar that is not very busy and pretty quiet. Most of the time our group hung out here, and we felt like we ran the place:) There is also a private breakfast and lunch restaurant right next to this pool for just Club Diamond. This pool and restaurant is located right next to your rooms, so it is very convenient.
