Wow! That's a big group! Actually I'm curious to see if anyone has some advise on large group negociations since the Royal PDC is in my top picks and we're looking into having a double and possibly quadruple wedding with my FI's 3 brothers which would mean a very large group as well...

Congrats and welcome to the forum! I'm getting married at the sister resort, the Gran Porto Real, and moving over to the Royal for the honeymoon portion.

I couldn't get a very good deal by going directly to the hotel. I found the prices were still cheaper going through airline reservations (book air and hotel together) - this option got us about 40% off the standard rate, and The Royal wouldn't give us more than 20% for 15-20 rooms. Maybe with your large group size they will do better... A high volume travel agent will probably have more clout to get the rates you are hoping for.
