Is everyone doing favors?

Recommended Posts

I don't think we're really doing wedding favors at all, our OOT bags will be more fun.

But if we decide to do favors, we'll do a candy bar with take-out boxes so our guests can fill up and take a snack with them. Love the way the finished product looks!

We are doing oot bags, and favours. We have fans for the ceremony, and for the reception we have a little bag with love mints and the name of each person attached as our placecard, and as our favours we have touchstones with different words such as love, laugh, dream, ect, ect, and we also have these very cool coins that have the irish cladagh on one side, and on the other friendship, love, and loyalty. This is what we also put on our travel mugs. The irish cladagh is representative of my dad who passed away.

We are doing OOT bags with lots of goodies then one little favor at the place settings at the reception. I'm using large straw fans for the ceremony, then the mini ones for the place settings.

I'm thinking of putting these little candles as favors at the place settings...they are cute and decorative. They come with the tag that says thank you; and I will probably add a little tag or ribbon with our colors.

Instead of favors, we're donating what we would have spent on them to a charity. We picked The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and we're going to have a little card at each place setting that says something like "In Lieu of Favors, a donation has been made to XXX in your name." I might glue a little pink ribbon on it or something.

I'm doing OOT bags, too, so people will still get goodies, but at all the weddings I've been going to lately, I saw so many favors left on the tables at the end of the night. It made me kinda sad that my friends probably spent time and money making a cute favor and so many people just leave them! So we thought this would be something nice to do.

This is a wonderful idea!

Everton and I have also purchased, blue writbands from the Canadian Cancer foundation, the bands say "Together Strong" all proceeds from the sale of these go to the Canadian cancer foundation. I am unsure if I am going to put these in the oot bags or place them at each place setting at the reception. Another idea is on everyone's chair at the ceremony, it would make everyone think of my dad for a moment and that might be nice. What do you guys think I should do?

Kelly~

Oh yeah if you decide to do something like the silicone wristbands, please make sure you purchase them from the actual charity. Lot's of people sell these bands on ebay and on other sites, but the proceeds do not necessarily go to the charity you are hoping to help.

We did OOT bags and CD favors. I made them myself fairly inexpensively. I bought a stack of blank CD's on sale for $9 and burned songs from the wedding soundtrack.

I ordered custom labels and had a photo of the beach at Las Caletas printed with our names and the songs. That only cost $1.25 each label.

I ordered white cardboard cases for something like 50cents each and ordered stickers of our mongram to decorate them. I hand wrote thank you notes and glued them in. Then, I found an ebay seller that had thick brown ribbon for like 20cents a yard, wrapped them, and sealed them with a sticker.

It was much easier than it sounds and cost less than $100 total!
