Montreal bride to be - Mexico here we come!

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to all other brides-to-be and recent brides!

I'm thrilled to say that my fiancé surprised me during a trip last month in the South of France, as he got down on one knee while we were visiting a castle. Very touching and romantic!!! (I LOVE surprises!)

We'd like a wedding in the Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen region. His youngest brother (of 3) and bestman has just asked us if we'd consider a DOUBLE wedding. I think it's great idea (as long as they agree to MY ideas of course!!! lol)

As for the date, we're thinking Nov. 2010 or Jan/Feb 2011 to avoid the Holiday and spring break crowds.

From what I've gathered so far, The Royal Playa del Carmen seems like the ideal all-inclusive for our needs.

There's SO MUCH to look into & think about though, my head is spinning!!!

I'm wondering if I should hire a local wedding planner (Riviera Maya)? Any thoughts? I'd like to able to chose my photographer, flowers, menu, decorations, music, etc.

Merci!

Brigitte

P.S. - I'm French-Canadian so sorry if I make some spelling errors!

Congrats and welcome to the forum! You should check out the thread about the Royal you will find a lot of great information there. I looked into this resort before making my final decision and you can pick all of those items but I believe they have a fee for bringing in your own photographer if they are not a guest of the resort. Good luck with all your planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
