Not sure about destination wedding...

I find there are 4 main benefits for myself at least...

1) You get to spend a whole week (or a few days) rather just 1/2 day with firends and family if I were to have a local wedding

2) Less desireable guests aren't part of the plan

3) Cost reduction

4) You get a great natural looking tan for your wedding pics!

Browse around this forum and I'm sure you'll find all you need. Just need a little patience...

Cheers!

welcome! main advice: if you choose a DW, be sure to go with the flow and be laid back. There are trade offs; you get an amazing location, but you sacrifice some control. It's not a simple as people think (I was one of these people)! Luckly, we all have this forum which answers soooo many questions and lets us vent, helps us plan, and allows us to enjoy the ride!! good luck wink.gif

If you are ok with a smaller wedding, in a beautiful location with the friends and family who really care about you - than do it.

If you want a big wedding with everyone you know there. You may want to consider going local.

Check out this forum, you will find a TON of info here. Best of luck!
