July 2010 Wedding-Dominican Republic (or Honduras, Colombia, Panama and Guatemala)

Hi Everyone!

 

I'm so excited that I found this forum.

 

I just got engaged last weekend and am on a mad dash looking for budget friendly destination weddings in the Dominican Republic (I've found that the round trip flights from Chicago and Atlanta are really affordable to Punta Cana.Roughly $400).

 

The wedding will be fairly small, around 20 people, all adults. I'd like the wedding to be on the beach and central to other outdoor activities (rainforest expeditions, snorkling, swimming with dolphins, beaches, etc).

 

The Dreams Resort in Punta Cana looks good but I'm definitely open to hearing about any other suggestions. The room rate was around $300 per night.

 

I also found that airfare is comparable to Honduras, Colombia, Panama and Guatemala. I love traveling off the beaten path and if anyone has any advice on weddings in these countries, please let me know.
