HI ladies,

I have been reading your posts about the Whydam. I am curious what information you may have regarding the resort. How has the pricing been? I would like a very formal destination wedding. Having the ceremony on the beach with a sit down formal dinner including appetizers and open bar ect. Does anyone know if you can get married at the Whyndam and then have your reception at Havana Blue? Any helpful suggestions I would appreciate. Thank you

I got married at the Wyndham 6 months ago on the St. John's Terrace, which was absolutely beautiful.  There are 3 different sites at the Wyndham you can get married at, the garden, the beach, or the St. John's Terrace.  You can have your reception either at the resort or anywhere on the island.  I think if you are going to have it Havana Blue, you will have to use Havana Blue's planner for the reception.  I worked with Monica at the Wyndham to get everything setup for the wedding ceremony, but we didn't have a reception so I don't know if she would be able to set up anything off the Wyndham property.

Kelly,

Thank you very much for your reply. How was the pricing for terrace? How many people did you have at your wedding? Did you use the any photographers? Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you Kelly. Congrats on your recent wedding.

You have to pay an extra $550 for the terrace.  We had 14 people at our wedding, but the terrace can fit many, many more than that.  The Wyndham has vendors they use for their wedding packages.  We used the photograph that the Wyndham provided.  If you go to www.sugarbayweddings.com under the links section are all vendors they work with.  My pictures and video were absolutely amazing.  There was nothing I wanted to change about our wedding, it was just perfect for us.

You will have an amazing wedding there.

Hi Ladies,

I am also looking at having my ceremony and reception at the wyndham.  My biggest concern is the reception.  I will only be having about 20 people and want to do a casual yet private reception.  Does anyone know if they allow you to rent out any rooms at the restaurants for your reception?  Also... did any of you get a D.J and do any dancing?  Just trying to figure everything out!!!

Hi Kelly,

I am getting married at the Wyndham the first week of June.  I was wondering what vendors you used.  You said you used the photographer provided by Wyndham, so that would be Chic Photography?  Thats who we will be using.  We're using all vendors provided by Wyndham- Flowers by East End Flower Shop and I plan on you scheduling a hair appt at Journeys Spa (not sure if I will get them to do my make up or just do it my self).  Any information you have on any of these vendors would be greatly appreciated!!  TIA!

I didn't have a formal reception at the Wyndham, but had Monica setup a reservation for 14 people at the Manor House because Baci was closed on Sundays.  We also got married during the off season, so the Baci restaurant was closed on Tuesdays and Sundays.  None of the restaurants have a private room because I tried that as well.  If you are going to have your reception at the Wyndham, you would need to rent out one of their private areas.  We saw several reception in the private rooms with DJ's and dancing.  Check with Monica and she can let you know those details.

This sounds very similar to the wedding that I'm trying to plan on St Thomas!! We're only having 20-30 people...so we want something that is memorable but not necessarily traditional for our reception. Any ideas or suggestions??

If you are still trying to decide on this, we went on a sunset cruise with all of our guests. We had 25 people, it was 60 bucks per person and had an open bar, cheese crackers and stuff. We paid to upgrade to chicken sliders and chicken satay. It was awesome, we just had a good time. We did the garter and bouquet toss on the boat. The cruise was from like 5 to 7 and sailed by St. Johns. The name of the boat was the daydreamer and left from the Wyndhem

Hi Ladies, I'm getting married at Sugarbay Resort in July 2013 and wanted to know if the gazeboo was a gorgeous at it appears in the online pictures.

We are getting the Tropical Moment in Paradise pkg.  What did your bouquet look like?  Did the photographer get some good shots?
