Are beach conditions better during certain times of year?

I was wondering if the beach conditions (rocks, seagrass, etc...) are better during certain times of year. The reason I ask is because I am getting married at the new Dreams Riviera Cancun in May. It is located in Puerto Morelos and the resort just opened in October. So far the reviews have made it sound like the beach is not as good as other areas. This is a little disappointing since it will be in my backdrop for the wedding. Additionally, I want everything to be perfect for my guests. I'm just wondering if it is possible that the beach is better in the Spring. Anyone know?
