I'm planning to get married in January 2011 but I just heard back from the resort that I've chosen that I can't book the date right now cause they're not booking for that year yet. I may have to wait till spring 2010 to actually book. My dilemma is that I wanted to send out my STD's in January 2010. I'm just not sure what to do. Do I send out the STD's with the week that I have picked (FI thinks this may be risky because we might not be able to get a date that week but I don't think that'll be an issue), or do I wait and send them out once I've actually booked the date?

Thanks for your help!

I agree, don't have anything printed yet. Perhaps you can do a mass email (include your monogram and pics to make it festive) with what you hope to book and put your tentative plans on a website, so people start thinking about it, saving for it and you can send your 'official' STD's once you get your booking confirmed.

Plus, people need lots of reminders to encourage booking. This might help that too.

I agree with the girls. I think you should wait to send the std's until you have more official details. Right now, you could start working on your website, selected a TA if you are going to use one and looking into designs of std's so you are ready to go in the spring when you have additional details.

I'm a planner so I know it's hard to wait on things but you can still start working out details so you are good to go right away when you get more info.
