I have a knot site and I don't pay anything and my guests have been able to RSVP online.

Yes...I think this is true as someone has to pay for the domain name that does not include the name of the website used such as the knot, weddingchannel, etc.

thanks vday bride - i went back and looked and if you actually start the process on the knot, it does say that you have the online rsvp option! Cool. I wonder what the "pay money" knot site (wedding tracker) does that the free one does not. I would not think that flash and the ability to create your direct domain name would not cost that much more.
