Food was excellent!  Unfortunately I don't have any pics..I can't even remember what was being served but it was delicious.  As for drinks..I didn't pay much attention to what they had except for the vodka cranberries that I was drinking lol.  Oh they do have a fun shot that I recommend...although I can't remember the name of it.,,it was tequila and something fizzy.  You slap the shot down on the table and it fizzes which forces you to take the shot fast!  Everyone loved them!

Also, a side note I would bring a nice pen with you to sign the certificate.  They only had a thick sharpie marker and made the certificate look more unofficial then it should.

Hope this helps.  Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks so much!  Those are our engagement photos.  Eva took the photos and Pierre assisted.  :) We ordered the Andale package for the wedding day which includes Eva and an assistant.  I feel confident that she will be able to capture all of the special moments without a 2nd photographer, but if it is in you budget to get the larger package, you definitely should!  We opted to put the money towards a videographer, because we figured that anything that was missed in photos will be caught on film. :)  Good luck!

You can bring the lanterns, but not the sparklers. :( Unfortunately they fall under the "fireworks and explosives" category and are prohibited in carry on and checked luggage.  Our WC, Blanca is getting them locally for us and they are $1.50 each.  We plan on using them during our first dance.  Depending on what you get your fiancé, personal items (jewelry, etc) are not included in the $300 you have to claim for customs.  If it is a watch or something similar, he could always wear it when going through customs.  You wouldn't want to pack something too valuable anyway, just in case.

Also, about the bar...they have your basic liquors and a few beers.  No frozen drinks and only serve wine at dinner.  I asked Blanca if they had Malibu or similar coconut rum, but they do not.  If you have a favorite or specific liquor that you want to drink the night of or use in a specialty cocktail, you can buy it locally and bring it with.  We plan on doing this for our specialty cocktail and Blanca said it is no problem.

Hope this helps!

Here are a couple of pics from our day...also they adjusted the price for us because we didn't want the engagement/trash the dress session.  And we received all of our pics within a week!!!

We are using Photoshoots Vallarta.  We met and worked with Eva and Pierre last November for our engagement shoot (which was included in our package for free).  They are extremely nice and professional.  We LOVE our pictures and can't imagine having anyone other than Eva capture our wedding day.  Their prices are super reasonable as well.  Keep in mind that there is an additional $300 fee for using an outside photographer.  I've attached a few of our favorite engagement photos. :)

All this talk about photographers got me to rethink about using the in-house photographer... I have since contacted Pierre with Photoshoots Vallarta and have booked them to shoot our wedding on Nov 14th! A big thanks to all of you ladies and your input. I am so happy with the decision and just talking to Pierre through email makes me so happy I am going to use them! Thank you all!!!

Has anyone hired a different videograher than the one offered by Las Caletas? Just wondering what other options are out there... I'm pretty certain I'm using Photoshoot Vallarta but their video prices are kinda steep =/ I'm wondering what the biggest differences are? Can a past bride please upload a clip of their video & credit who they used? Pretty please? :)

Has anyone tried to take candles on the plane, either in their carry on or in their checked bags? I will have my unity candles and possibly some candles for our centerpieces. According to the TSA website, only gel candles are allowed but I have heard some conflicting info on that. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone! I finally got around to putting together our Welcome Bags and thought I would share.

Here are the bags we are using (Baggu.com $7 each). Puerto Vallarta is known for their Seahorse Statue downtown on the boardwalk so I thought these would be perfect.

400

And here is everything that will go in the bag:

400

400 400

Welcome Book:

400

pages include:

  • Welcome Letter
  • Schedule of events for the week
  • "The Big Day" timeline
  • Guest information (list of all the guests, where they are from and a place to put room numbers)
  • map of the resort
  • map of PV
  • Things to do in PV
  • Fun Facts about PV
  • crossword puzzle about me and Dan
  • Guacamole and Margarita recipe
  • photo sharing with info on our Shutterfly account where guests can upload/download pictures from the week
  • I will also include a PV postcard in each one

I might still add a few things or make changes but for the most part I am happy to say I am done with this project. Took a while to complete and to collect all the items I wanted to include but I definitely think it was worth the time and effort.

After getting response back from my guest list I am beginning to get a little worried I will have more than 80 guests coming. We invited 162 thinking no more than half would come, but it seems we may be getting close to 100. I know las caletas is smaller and really only suited for up to 80 guests. I'm starting to think I may have to change venues, which I don't want to do as we had our hearts set on las caletas. I am wondering if any past brides on here have had more than 80 and how it worked out?
