Does anyone know the actual size of the dance floor?  We are coordinating a dance for our first dance and curious what the size of the floor is!

Hi,

I'm not sure the exact size but would guess it is approximately 10 feet wide and 15 feet long??  At one point we had about 40 people slow dancing on it at our wedding.  Denise or Blanca would probably be able to give you exact measurements.

Here is a photo if that helps :)

I am wondeinrg waht you did about timing---photos after the ceremony, before the sun set?  Did you see your fiance before the ceremony, did you take pictures afterwards, how much time did you have before the sun set?  I am concerned about ti being too dark for us to get good photos.

Thanks!

PS what did you do about communicating with Blanca once you were there--did you use a cell phone? hotel phone?

Thanks!

As for the timing of the sun setting, we only had about 20 minutes of daylight after the ceremony finished for pictures. We did pics before the ceremony in order to make sure that we were able to get lots (with the wedding party). The Groom and groomsmen came over earlier in the day to meet us and we did tons of pics (it actually was great seeing my fiance before the wedding as it calmed my nerves!). After the ceremony we did a big group pic with all of the guests and then did family shots and a few more of just myself and my husband.

To answer your question about communicating with Bianca - I had been in touch with her via email prior to going to Puerto Vallarta and we set up a time to meet for a pre-site inspection visit (this was great as my husband and I took the day for ourselves to go over and see Las Caletas and finish up last minute details). The day of our pre-site visit Bianca met us at the Marina Terminal and came over on the boat with us, met with us when we arrived to go over details. The day of the actual wedding we were met by Denise at the Marina (the bridesmaids and myself) and she came over on the boat with us. Both Denise and Bianca (who arrived a bit later in the day) popped in and out of the bridal suite all day and told me to let the ladies at the spa know if I needed anything and they would phone her (the spa is right next door to the bridal suite).

Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you (I understand how you are feeling....these are all things that I worried about and they turned out great!).

Heather,

This is also a concern of mine.  It's one of the few traditions I would like to keep, but I want to make sure we have time to get enough pictures as well.  Blanca mentioned something about starting the ceremony a little earlier for winter weddings. What time did your ceremony begin?

I was wondering if anyone found it getting cold at night for our guests, our wedding is next month and I have only been to PV in the summertime, I was wondering if its quite chilly or windy? February? Thanks! Very excited, I have been calm for the entire year but I am getting the last minute jitters and panics...! I also am very concerned about the lighting but its fairly important to have the first glance at the ceremony down the aisle...I know I seem to be stuck because its one or the other?!

When we were in PV at the beginning of December, the nights were pretty warm. There was a little bit of a breeze at our resorts on a few of the evenings, but on the day of the wedding at Las Caletas, everyone was hot! I brought a sweater to wear over my dress because I anticipated being chilly (I am always cold) but I didn't even put it on during the boat ride back! You will be warm, especially if you and everyone else are up dancing as much as our group was!

If it's important to you to have the first look be when you're walking down the aisle, go with that! But maybe try to do as much as possible, like the bridal party pictures, done separately before the ceremony. We were left in the dark by the time we did a group shot and pictures with our families.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this thread and I have absolutely loved looking at everyones review and pictures, your weddings look amazing!!

Me and my partner are looking to get married on Las calletas, we have never been bofre....we have never even been to Mexico!!!

Our main concern at the moment is how much it will cost for our guests to come over. I was just wondering if there were any English LC brides that have had guests already book their holiday there? We wont be getting married for a couple of years and I know prices will change but we just wanted a ball park figure. As if it turns out to costly we may have to choose somewhere else or buy a hell of a lot of lottery tickets!!

Thanks guys and look forward to hearing from you

Kirsty
