JMikla what a beautiful video! I cried pretty much the whole way through it and it made me so excited for my big day! Who was it that did your video for you?

Hi Everyone,

My weddings not till November 2012 but I'm having a tough time deciding whether I want to get the extra hour on the island and whether or not I want to book the DJ.  Just wondering how many of you ladies have gotten the extra hour and if you think it was really worth it?  I have about 50 guests coming so it will be an extra $500.  I also will have some small children there and wonder if it will be too long for them.  My biggest concern is that the dancing time after dinner seems too short.  What time do they actually get you to leave is it 10:30pm sharp or is it closer to 11pm when you actually get on the boat?  I am also pretty particular on what music I want playing at certain times of the night and am leaning towards just creating play lists.  For anyone who didn't get the DJ what is the sound system like and was it easy to do the music yourself?  Also, who starts and stops the music for the ceremony?  Last question, if you don't get the DJ do they still take care of the music on the boat to and from Las Caletas or do you bring your own music?

Thanks!!!

My wedding is in June and I am not getting the extra hour because it is still an hour boat ride back, so we'll party on the way back and if we still feel like it, we can party back at the hotel, but i figured I'd save some money and cater to those who want to leave early (my future in laws most likely).  I am also opting out of the DJ and using an Ipod or computer instead.  I am having my brother's friend control the music (with all of my playlists of course) and Annie told me that the Cruise Director is the one who makes the announcements all night. So I know that doesn't fully answer your questions, BUT I will be able to let you know exactly what goes down after the wedding if you haven't made a decision by then!

I didn't add an extra hour and felt like the dancing time was plenty. If you have a group that REALLY likes to dance and party then ADD it, but in general every wedding I've ever been to, people aren't dancing all night, and while I was dancing all night not all my guests were, so I felt the evening had enough time, but an hour wouldn't have hurt, we partied and danced on the boat ride back :)

DJ was worth it for me because I didn't want to "worry about it". If you have someone to run it through the night then that works.
