Time of Ceremony

Are any cruise brides having an early evening wedding while in port? I want to have a 5 or 6pm wedding in Nassau followed by a 1.5 to 2 hour reception before heading back to the ship. The ship is scheduled to depart at 10pm so I'm wondering if my proposed timeline is cutting it too close. My plan is to head back to ship at 8pm at the latest. Is anyone else considering this?

I was thinking of the same thing but since getting married in Nassau off the cruise ship seems impossible (you have to be in Nassau for 24 hrs before you can apply for marriage license), I want to have a 'fake wedding' in Nassau with cocktails then get married legally on the ship after the sun is down. Has anyone heard of this, or having the Captain marry you later in the day?
