So.... I really wanted to pick #1 but I didn't. I love the look more BUT it doesn't look as comfy AND you can only sit one person per chair! For conversations and such, the 2nd is more practical.

I love #1, for the reasons you listed, but vote for #2 because after some great food and a few drinks people will want to lounge vs. sit up straight.

I really like both! But I'd go with number two. To me it just seems more inviting to just lounge.
