Maggie's Bridal Gown

Glenda, you are the sweetest thing ever. I did get the pashs @ $2 apiece!!

For a girl who never bargained (forgot the correct term, another CRS moment) in that type of circumstance b4, we did pretty darn well! We got either 46 or 50. Maggie changed her mind about cream and off-white. Once she saw how lovely the colors were, she chose 4 or 5 colors: a palm green, a softer green, a tangerine, a pink, and I can't remember if it was a shade of teal or a goldish color. Anyway, the lady put them all in a plastic garbage bag. We carried them back from Broadway to 60 Thompson. They were really heavy. I have new understanding and gratitude for your kind gesture to the brides of picking these up for them! I do hope you will have wheels of some kind so you will not need to take the subway or the bus.

So your friend got a Morgane Le Fay gown the same as Maggie's, huh? It is a gorgeous gown.

There were a couple of times while we were in Soho that I wished I had gotten your phone # or some way to contact you. It would have been great to meet you for a couple of drinks. Maybe next time...like I will ever get there again!

Thank you again for being so helpful. I repeat, you are a sainted woman!

Lizzy I am so glad that the trip turned out well for you. I can't believe you got the pash's so cheap! Where on broadway did you get them? I get them on broadway as well but I have only been able to get them for $2.75 each. Hmm I wonder if they are the same ones. Do they say "Pashmina" on them. I know that probably sounds ridiculous but there are some that are cheaper that don't say that, but have fallen apart so I don't like to get them. I am so glad you got such an amazing price. If you tell me where you got them I will go there tomorrow and try to get that price for all the other girls.

I am by no means a saint but I know what you mean when you say that it was kind of difficult to get. It's not like going to a store and just scooping them up. It involves bargaining and sometimes I have to wait for the lady to get her guy to go get the colors I need. And carrying them home def sucks. But it makes me happy knowing that it will get to all my BDW friends. I'm so glad you were able to find them. cheer2.gif

*Side Note* Did you stay at 60 Thompson Hotel? My friend dates the guy who owns that hotel. It is a really nice hotel. I hope you didn't walk to the hotel with those pash's in your hand it would have killed you. I certainly hope you took a cab ride or at the very least a subway ride home. It's not so bad picking them up, what makes it difficult is dragging the pash's home. LOL. I looked like a lunatic the last time I did it.

Glenda, I don't remember the name of the cross street, but the lady was right on the corner. Across Broadway there was a bank where I went to use the cash machine. I really think it was just as we were getting into Chinatown. I will call Maggie in the morning to see if she or her FMIL can remember. Mary goes to this area at least 3 times a year and knows those streets fairly well, so b/w the 2 of them I should get an answer so I can post it for you in the AM.

Yes, we stayed at 60 Thompson. We loved it. The room was adorable and the staff was very nice. And no I didn't carry the pashs back to the hotel. Maggie took them from me. We eventually flagged down a taxi, thank God!
