Hi Ladies,

I still haven't decided on a photographer yet and was wondering who everyone else is planning to use and what they are charging you? It's pretty important to me that we have nice, creative photos so I want to make a good choice! I'd like to have someone booked in the next week or so.

Thanks,

Jennifer

I am using Austin Warnock. I feel very lucky to have found him. We are paying for his travel to join us in Mexico and he is doing our engagement, ceremony and everything in Mexico (ttd, etc) and our AHR for travel costs + $200! He is building his portfolio so I feel like we got a very fair deal!

The great thing about this community are the resources it has available for brides. The vendor marketplace has some great photographers listed many of which have served brides on the forum so brides can give you first hand experience. If you check it out their are contests every once in awhile for weddings and some offer discounts like 'sammysgirl' mentioned in order to help build their portfolio. Go check it out!

Jennifer,

The one thing I would like to suggest on your wedding day is tides and time of ceremony. This time of year we have a problem making sure clients get married when there is still enough ambient light for great results. Sun sets at 5pm and later in the year May (latest: 5:45). Make sure the hotel you are at will finish dinner service at an agreed time so it does not cut into your party and dancing. All to often we see dinner service ending at 9pm when hotel rules (most hotels) ar music to be turned way down by 10pm. Good luck and congrats!

Thank you all very much for your great suggestions! :)

My fiance actually has a friend who is a professional photographer living in Puerto Vallarta, Elizabeth Lloyd, who has offered to give us a pretty good deal and will be photographing the entire week. He wasn't sure if she would be available or what she would charge...but it just so happens that she is available and is willing to do it for a great price! So it looks like I have it covered.

I also want to thank you Ask.CostaRica for the information regarding ceremony time...I will def be moving the ceremony time up and will also be talking with the restaurant about the dinner and reception times....and in your earlier post you mentioned being very familiar with the Puerto Viejo area...do you have any suggestions on areas or places to go for the post wedding photos (TTD)? If so I would love to hear them!

Jennifer
