How do I include 15yr old son into bridal party when FI has already chosen his guys?

Ok, so my son will be 15 when I have my wedding in Mexico and I have been trying to figure out how to include him in the wedding? My FI already has chosen the guys he wants as his BestMan/Groomsmen and I dont have anyone to add as another BM.

 

I have read before that I can have him do a reading or something but I want him in the party. Should I have a talk with FI and go from there or what!

What about ushers? Or have him as a jr. attendant, kinda like jr. bridesmaids.

If you can have a junior bridesmaid, can't you have a junior groomsmen? My niece will be 12 when I get married. She is a jr bridesmaid. Wearing the same dress as the girls, carrying a bouquet, but walking by herself since there is one guy for each girl. She is the absolute doll of my life and I wanted her to feel special on my day.

What about having your son walk you down the aisle?

I like Beth's idea of having him walk down the aisle - maybe both him & your dad could? Or maybe have him be a bridesman on your side of the ceremony

Walking you down the aisle with our without your dad is a great option. You could also have him walk your mom down the aisle and wear the same outfit as the groomsmen to be included. Finally, you don't have to have an even number - he could still be a groomsman/jr groomsman and just not be paired up with a bridesmaid. OK - I'm done! : )

I like the idea of having him walk me down the isle because my father is not in my life nor will be at the wedding and its always just been me and my son. He can be a Jr. Groomsmen and do that! Thanks ladies!!

It would be great if he could walk down the aisle, but another idea that I recently saw was...to have your son be part of the ceremony by reading a special poem or memorable quote.

I was also gonna suggest he walk you down the aisle - very important, meaningful, role! Then, if you're having the groomsmen stay standing, he can go stand with them.

A special reading/poem would also be very nice. I would talk to your FI & your son to see how they feel.

Oh I think it is great to have your son involved, have him help with seating guests and making sure that people sign the guest book.. there are tons of things you could assign him to feel apart of and included in your special day. Just to be your voice to say thanks for coming and my mom is so happy to have you here. Gives him a sense of importance
