Choosing a photographer - what am I looking for?

Recommended Posts

I agree with everone who said don't rule out flying someone in with you- it may not be much more than using someone who's already there. For me the personality of the photographer was really important, too- they'll be a big part of your day after all. Try to have a phone interview at least so you can see if you "click."

I agree with previous posts. I looked at SO many websites, some I liked, but just a couple, i LOVED. I fell in love with the style of our photographer, and it just 'felt right' - even more than when I tried on my wedding dress. I ended up working out a deal, and our photographer will also be flying to Mexico for our wedding, as he is from the city we are from.

A friend of mine chose her photographer because she was a family friend and cheap, and she ended up hating ALL of her photos. We agreed we could splurge a bit on this because the photos are super important to me. So you have to weigh all the pros and cons and look at TONS of sites. E-mail the ones you love and see what you can work out. Dont settle! Good luck!

(my photographers info is in my bio if you want to peek)

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Make sure you see an entire wedding, not just lots of pretty pictures form lots of different weddings :) Also, are they fun to work with, you will be with them on your most important day,all day. Lastly, ask for at least 3 referrals. Their clients will tell you honestly. Best wishes!
