Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Things have been going well...but it seems like there is still a lot to do for some reason. A couple of weeks ago we sent out our first newsletter after everyone booked to give them more info, and we also got our BM dresses. Also, while I was home my MOH and mom threw a suprise pampered chef shower for me that was a total suprise and amazing! Still waiting on my dress and the favours to come in but thats about it....just seems like little things now. I am currently looking into flowers as everything I have seen all has roses which I dont want, so we will see! I really under estimated how much work it would be to plan a wedding a do schooling and work full time all at once...I keep dreaming of laying on the beach with a cold drink in my hand! lol

 

We fly in on the 30th so maybe we will see eachother in passing. How are things going with you?

Katelynn - How's planning going??? Since I moved to April I haven't been able to keep up with you as much. I don't think we'll end up being at the resort at the same time anymore... We're leaving April.30th and *hoping* to do a week at Sandles Ochos Rios for our honeymoon right afterwards.

Things are going pretty good. Dress is bought, bridesmaids dresses are bought, FI's suit is bought (still need tie & shoes). Trip is booked, us + 17 guests as of right now. We're having our honeymoon at Sandals Ochos Rios the week after, so we'll be going straight there from GBP on the 30th. So that will be booked and paid for next week. We're going to be doing our registry in November. Photographer is booked.  Save the dates were sent out middle of August. Our website is up, I need to update it a bit but what can you do, I'm busy! I haven't started with flowers yet... they're not a big deal to me (I'm not a big flowers person), but I agree that roses can be kind of cliche. It Beverly would ever get back to me I'd ask her about them!

I'm getting married at the GBP in April 2011, and this thread/forum has been a lifesaver!  Although I feel like a slacker compared to most of you - you're all shaming me into doing much more than I thought I would for a DW  But there are just so many great ideas!!  Anyone else going to be there from April 1-8?

Hey paddies, I had noticed some comments on here about Tai Flora (theflower vendor) being kinda pricey. Where were you able to find prices? I didn't see anything on their website and I emailed them for a quote, but still no reply.

Wow...Im surprised that you didn't get an answer from TiaFloral.  That was where I got my prices from.  My quote was around $3,000 for the flowers!  That was for my bouquet, 5 bm bouquets, 2 junior bm, my FI bout, 5 gm bouts, centerpieces for the tables, tablecloths, blah blah, blah...this was supposed to be easier...I don't want all this stuff!  So i had them revise the quote and take a bunch of stuff out, but it was still around $1800 and I thought, this is ridiculous...so I have now found some real touch flowers for me and my 5 bm's, we are going to make everyone elses...I don't care about tablecloths, some flowers come with our wedding package so that is going to be all we are using.  I refuse to pay that much money for all these flowers when people won't be able to keep them and enjoy them!

They sent me their package and I have it saved in my email, so if you want it PM me your addy and I'll send it to you. I felt they were pricey and didnt have what I wanted...they were ALL roses and I am not a rose person, in my email to them I even stated no roses...lol

 

I am still waiting to hear back from the garden place...but so far to me Jan's is best!

Missy - wow that does seem very pricey for flowers. I'm thinking of having my bm's carry parasols instead of bouquets. I've found some really cute photos with the parasols. Thanks for the info!
