Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

I've been busy for a few weeks and havent been able to see whats been going on and wow I've missed a lot. Reading it all over I'm starting to kinda panic because guests are starting to ask how the day is going to go and I have no idea! JMarie thanks so much for the inof and the pics are beautiful...do you know if they always do the cake/dances bouqet right after? I don't care the order but some of the guests are kind of antsy to know whats going on and I have no answers for them!

those pics are amazing...I get more and more excited to finally get down there everytime I am on this site. Thanks so much for sharing info and pics with all of us. Looks like I have to get a portable steamemer, I am thinking they are only around $50.

We arent having an AHR so Ill be wearing my dress all day, I think I might be one of the only one's though.

Thats what I'm planning on doing too.  My mom just went to Mexico and there was a bride on the plane and the flight attendant put it in the very front area and hung it up so it didn't get wrinkled.  Thats my plan, I hopefully won't have to do anythign whe nI'm down.  The nice thing abuot the material in the dress though is its gathered, and you can't really see the wrinkles when its on, thank goodness.

That would be awesome if they let you store it up front. In our travel package it just says Bride and Groom get priority seating on the plane so they can store dress/tux in overhead compartment. Hopefully I can find something better than cramming it up there.

missy&eric2011- haha thats so funny!  Actually I've been on vacation visiting fam and we had a friends wedding to go to and work has been crazy so haven't had a chance to log on in a while...it was killing me! lol.  I've been working awful hours this week and next and it sucks bc I want to get my save the dates out..grr!  Hopefully I can work on them on Sunday!  Love the music picks btw, those are great!!

JMarie, thanks so much for your review and the pics!!! It looks like your wedding was beautiful and I love your dress! Congrats! :)

Beverly told me that you can bring in outside venders at no additional cost so you can use a different florist if you want.  I think if you go to the tai flora (or whatever its called) website, they have examples of bouquets that I'm assuming are similar to what we get to choose from.  I'm not a big fan of fake flowers, but I also don't really want to dish out a bunch of money on the guys bouts since none of them care anyway, so is anyone using something other than flowers?  I've seen girls use feathers or shells...so I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas.  As for centerpieces, I'm not sure what to do.  I originally wanted to do the floating candles/ orchids in vases of water but like some of you said before, I am stressing over the thought of bringing down vases...what a pain!  So I'm tossing around the idea of using pictures of use instead.  Pics of when we were little all the way up to now and put them in pretty matching frames, having them on the tables and surrounding the frames with shells or stones, petals...something like that.  And then adding some candles around as well.  But idk, we have plenty of time to figure it out but thats just an idea that I was thinking about.

Anyway, my laptop is dying so got to go!  Great to see everyone so involved on this thread!!!! :)

Just saw your post... tell your guests to RELAX.  lol, I mean as long as they know to show up at xx time for the ceremony, why does it really matter what order everything is happening in, were they planning to do something else that day? cheesy.gif   Just tell them the ceremony is at xx time and dinner is at (most likely) 6:30...No need for you to panic over it!!!!

I haven't even thought about bringing down decorations!  Are you bringing down a cake topper too?!  I already planned to bring down the jars for the sand ceremony...geez...I am going to end up bringing everything but the kitchen sink!!!!

I have read other comments from ladies on the site that Tia is Waaaay more expensive than the other vendors in the area.  My quote was originally for $3000 and I thought that was ridiculous; not to mention they were very unfriendly to deal with!  But I think that price is even worse when it's impossible to take them home and enjoy them after the wedding!  I think I am going to do some checking and see who else is in that area as a vendor.

sorry...I sound negative...Refresh....Wedding...In Jamaica....Okay...I'm better!  smile43.gif

Okay ladies, after her review, I am really up in the air as to what we are going to do...I was totally set on the gazebo idea...but now I am questioning it if it is that much fun doing the "included" stuff!!!

I am bringing down a small handheld steamer to "freshen" up my dress...but hopefully I won't have to worry about wrinkles too much.  I am bringing down 2 dresses as I don't want to have to dry clean my "real" dress before my AHR...I am changing into the other dress sometime after the ceremony (don't know if I will wait until after dinner or not) and I am also wearing this same dress for the TTD session...anyone else doing something like this???

I'm contemplating doing the two dresses thing too.  There is an adorable white dress at BCBG that is CALLING ME NAME every day when I walk past at lunch. but my mom keeps insisting that I will want to wear the dress all day, but it seems like that would be HOT!  And I don't want to have to clean it.  So we will see.  What does your second dress look like?

My "real" dress is the Jenna by Maggie Sottero...tons of layers and would cost another fortune to have it dry cleaned...hence the second dress...

My TTD dress/second dress is still a bridal gown... Mori lee 2203...I bought it off the rack as a sample for only $200...so i cant complain; plus I dont have to have it altered at all...its a bit long but that isn't a big deal.  I still wanted to look and feel like a bride but I didnt want it to look anything like my real dress as my FI helped with picking this one out and originally we were thinking about doing the TTD pics the day before the wedding being as our wedding package comes with a trial hairdo...but then i saw the after affects of the sand with the dresses and decided that the day after the ceremony would be the best if i wanted any nice pictures in the second dress.
