Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Thank you! They made no mention of anything for dinner so I am going to definitely email them today to inquire more about it!

As soon as you book your ceremony time they should tell you what times are available for dinner. They open the restaurants for receptions at 6pm, so I suggest doing it as soon as you book your ceremony time. Something happened to my ceremony time of 430 when Bev left and Chandlyn took over so insrptead of ceremony at 4 and dinner at 6 I now have ceremony at 1230 and dinner at 6 which sucks ass but oh well. Just more time to take pics and just relax...oh and change into my 2nd dress :)

I would also let them know asap about renting the gazebo since those can book up and you may have to pay a deposit, rent a band/dj/bartender etc..

@ mekanabr - Your wedding is coming up so soon, you must be so excited!  I'm really interested in finding out how the parasols hold up, so if you could let me know afterwards, that would be awesome!  I look forward to hearing about your wedding after you come back!  Have a great time!! :)

I'm new to this!  I'm very close to booking my wedding at GBP for March 2012 and reading some of the messages on here has been great!  I don't think I'll be reserving the gazebo/DJ/bar for the reception, would the hotel bars be suitable for partying afterwards?  We're also planning on getting married here (Ontario) first...is anyone else doing it that way?  Less paperwork on the Jamaica side of things!

Welcome welcome!!!! I'm actually getting married prior to going to Jamaica. IT is easier and all of our paperwork will be local if we need copies and this and that!!!

Haven't decided on the gazebo either, but I have been  to this resort and had an absolute blast there, so I'm getting married there!

Are the bars suitable for partying afterwards, in my opinion, not really. The bars are more walk up and order a drink and thats about it. You could stand around there, but it's not like a club bar, unless you're in the disco which (if I remember correctly) opens around 11. You can always have guests meet up in the lobby bar which is semi indoors, but it would be a little more intimate. No dance area though, but it'd be ok for cocktails with your guests!

I plan to have guests meet us at the disco when it opens after our formal dinner reception. It'll give them a chance to relax, shower, do whatever they want to do before really having a party!!! ^_^

looks gorgeous!!!!  I love that dress!!  if I wasn't so old I might have taken it, but even though the pickups are beautiful, they're for someone younger than me.  it works great for you!!!

we just lost our travel group to Jamaica and are now getting married here at home 3 weeks before we go to Jamaica and we're having a blessing service instead of a marriage ceremony, but we're still having our original photographer because it was paid and we're still having our "reception" dinner and cake. at least that's what the resort told me... and we invited our photographer to have dinner with us!!  lol  he accepted.

I am currently trying to find a venue for our DW in Jamaica and another bride on BDW told me about the Grand Bahia. We won't be having any guests but still want to have a cake and obviously photography. Does the resort offer that?

Also, I told FI that we MUST go swimming with dolphins, I have an obsession and ever have since I was a little girl. So I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about doing that down in Jamaica as well? Thanks in advance girls! :)

We also aren't renting the gazebo and rather are just going to go to the disco when it opens!  My group is the type of group where we can make our own fun and party wherever so Im not to worried about it!
