Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

We're taking all of our guests on the Island Vibes Irie Cruise to Dunn's River Falls.  We did the cruise on a previous trip and loved it!  The total time is about 4hrs, and it runs most days of the week.  It includes the transfer to and from Ochos Rios, catamaran ride to snorkel, ~ 30min of snorkeling (equipment included), catamaran to Dunn's River, Dunn's River admission and climb, then party cruise back.  The best thing about this one is that it includes hors d'hoeuvres, snacks, sandwiches and premium liquors.  Its $70USD per person.

Our most recent plan is that we are going through Lees Tours and having a private bus pick us all up and take us Ziplining in the White River Valley, then off to Mahoe Falls (thanks to Tris' suggestion since it's more private than Dunn's) and Coyoba Gardens.  All in all it's going to cost about $60 per person for half day private trip with our 40ish guests.  We originally wanted to do the snorkeling tour but my fiance's father can't swim so we though ziplining would be really fun.  I'm really excited!

you guys all sound like pros at this! I just booked my wedding here for nov 4th/2011 and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? i have no idea what to do next, we have aprox 20-25 ppl coming (small group) and i dont even know where my wedding will be, do i need to pick the beach, the gazebo or what not? or is it just assumed it will be the gazebo? Alos mmy wedding is at 1pm, any suggestions on what to do for the rest of the day? id like to be able to stay in my dress all day and celebrate on the beach at night, I heard about renting the gazebo at nigigt with a band... id love to do that.

also, i love the cute tote bags, are ppl bringing those for their bridal party? we're probably going to do the catamaran excursion to dunns river falls, but do you book that once you get there? I haven't seen anythng about any excursions. they seem to be very hard to get hold of at the resort.  Sorry i have so many questions!! im just so excited to see this thread!!!

I got them at Sears in the USA about this time last year, I think they were about $6 each and we had a 10% off coupon...I still think it came up to aroud $500 though but it was well worth it as you could totally tell where people were according to the towels. The best thing we gave in the OOT was the mugs we ordered off of 4imprint.ca it is something I wouldnt have wanted to go without!!

Hey Everyone,

Our wedding is January 10th and i can't believe how organized everyone is!!  I love this website, so many great ideas and info!  Just wondering how long it took for Tai Florists to respond, I sent a request out 3 weeks and they have yet to respond. also, does anyone know where to find pics of the samples from GBP?  I wanted orchids so I am sure this would be additional cost.

Busybee, I see that your in Ottawa and your the day after me, when do you leave?  Any great finds in Ottawa? I've checked Micheals found a few things.

I need to get busy!!

Welcome to this thread!

I beleive you can either get married in the gazebo or just off to the right of it on the little sand place.  I'm not sure if they allow you to get married anywhere else.

You could really do anything you wanted after your ceremony until the time you have your supper.  By the time you have your ceremony, champagne, and take pictures, I don't imagine you would have more then a few hours before your supper.  You could go to a bar, relax by the pool, go to your room and take a nap!

You can rent to gazebo for the evening.  Some of the other brides on here will know more about this as we chose not to do that, but rather I think we will just head to the disco or something.  Our group is a bunch of party people so I'm sure no matter what we do it will be fun!

We are making OOT (out of town) bags for our guests.  We are using a tote bag and adding some other things to it.  If you search on this site you will find lots of ideas for them if you chose to make them.

Hi, we are getting married at midday on the 18th.  We were going for 11am but opted for midday instead.  We arrive on the 15th (8 of us in total) we wanted the wedding quite quickly after arriving so we can then relax, plus I don't have to worry about not fitting into my dress by the end!!  We fly from Gatwick on the 15th at 9.30am I think it is.

We got engaged at the Bahia 2 years ago, it is magical, the staff etc are amazing.  There are a few places in the UK that do the sand ceremony kits so I may look into it x

I may have family arriving from the UK. he mentioned that the flight is on the 14th, but I'm still waiting for them to confirm. other family from the Midlands (Nottingham) can't make it but have just returned last week from the Decameron just down the road from Gran Bahia and said it was fantastic. their trasnfer bus stopped at our resort from the airport to drop someone off and my cousin said it looks very posh!!  I was given a bag for my dress when I bought it, but it's very similar to a man's suit bag.  not sure if there is anywhere there to get a sand ceremony or not, and I'm not sure it's worth to order it here and have it sent, but I know Tai Flora (the flower shop) will do one for you if you order it from them for between 45 and 50 BP adn you'd have your choice of colours. as well they'll close it up for you included in that price so you can transport it home. not
