Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?

Recommended Posts

- When did you finally receive confirmation of your restaurant? My wedding is exactly two months today and I was hoping to confirm the table/seating charts soon.

About 2 weeks before we left for the wedding.

- I am also wondering what the candles look like that are supplied by the resort? Chandlyn said she was going to send a photo but I just wanted to make sure I buy ones that look the same so I can utalize what they have there. I loved your centre pieces!! Did you get them to dim the lights for the dinner? I am hoping to get a really romantic feel by having lots of votives on the guest tables and tall candles at the head table.

I THINK there were a few candles supplied per table, but my BM set up all the centerpieces for me and I was too busy to notice if there were a few extra candles around them, sorry. The lights were already dimmed in the restaurant.

- Do you have any suggestions of ways to display table seating charts now that you have seen the facilities?

Depending on the restaurant and where in the restaurant you're sitting it would all depend. They're super accomodating though so tell them what you want and I'm sure they'll work it out for you. We didn't have seating charts, just name cards, as we had only 16 guests.

Love your shirts by the way!! Did someone give them to you as a gift?

I made them :). Staples iron ons that I designed on my computer and printed at home.

Hi ladies !

I am considering having our reception outdoor at the Pisces restaurant. Chandlyn says I can have a private wedding there for $1700 which includes DJ. I am wondering if anyone has had theirs outside, and more importantly I'm looking for pictures. I have no idea what it would look like out there, if anyone has any pics to share, please let me know ! Thank you !

Happy wedding planning =)

welcome! you're the day after me! I'm nov 17th. what time did you get? when do you arrive? I may have family arriving from the UK. he mentioned that the flight is on the 14th, but I'm still waiting for them to confirm. other family from the Midlands (Nottingham) can't make it but have just returned last week from the Decameron just down the road from Gran Bahia and said it was fantastic. their trasnfer bus stopped at our resort from the airport to drop someone off and my cousin said it looks very posh!!  I was given a bag for my dress when I bought it, but it's very similar to a man's suit bag.  not sure if there is anywhere there to get a sand ceremony or not, and I'm not sure it's worth to order it here and have it sent, but I know Tai Flora (the flower shop) will do one for you if you order it from them for between 45 and 50 BP adn you'd have your choice of colours. as well they'll close it up for you included in that price so you can transport it home. not

I have looked at all these amazing pictures with tears in my eyes!!  I have a couple of questions if someone could help me........

What is the Sand ceremony please and how would I go about it, I loved the pictures of the sand being put into the same container!

Also, how did you guys get your dress over there?  I am thinking of getting one of those men's suit bag things!

I can't believe I've only just found this website!!!! xxxxx

I feel so behind too!  LOL...but don't know where to start.  Are you doing "OOT" bags? Have you got your dress yet?

Thanks for the clarification lsmith! I appreciate it!  I'll have to get someone to start downloading music just in case!

FleetMac Bride is right - the gazebo is $250 alone, or $500 including the DJ.

I'm not sure about requests for the DJ, I'm sure he'd play what you want (if he has it) since it's your wedding, but at the disco they didn't play any songs we requested!  We didn't ask him what music he had - we knew we wanted our own playlist from the beginning.  The only time we heard his music was while my sister ran up to the room to get her ipod....  I wasn't looking forward to making my own playlist either, but my sister offered to do it for me in lieu of a wedding gift so it worked out really well!  Anyone in your wedding party that might be willing to take this on for you???
