Would it be weird to have unofficial bridemaids

Recommended Posts

I was thinking of doing the sand unity ceremony but we wouldn't have been able to have a table outside. I was going to involve my friends by having them hold the vase and bring the basket with the sand jars in it up and hold them.

My FI and Dad are totally against the sand ceremony. I am so mad. We are going to be at NF so you won't be able to hear that great so I liked this because it was visual. My dad said it looks like doing sandart at the boardwalk! :o

Not at all. A girlfriend of mine is doing Honorary Bridesmaids, because they are doing a limited wedding party (4 on her side and 4 on his, mostly all family), she still wanted to honor all of her close friends as apart of the bridal party. They are wearing her wedding colors for the wedding and will be apart of the pictures etc. Neither live in her town so she did not want to have to ask them to add the expense of dresses, shoes, hair, etc after having to pay for flights, rooms, etc. She is even listing them in her program as her HB's. Hope this helps!

I don't think there is anything wrong with it....it depends on you and your friends. We have our two witnesses each, so the couple of other friends I would have in a wedding party if it was home and large are going to be involved in other ways...readings, etc.

sad.gif so sad for you, I think the Sand Unity Ceremony is so pretty, just make sure you sure more natural colors if they think it looks artlike (The bright colors can be overwhelming). I made a jar with sand art for my living room to incorporate the colors of the room to test out if I liked it for our ceremony 1. to get an ideal of what it would look like with 1-5 colors and 2. to not spend a lot of money on something that I wouldn't like, it turned out really pretty. I would suggest going to Michael's or a craft store and purchasing a small sample of sand and a pretty vase and do a mock ceremony... note: to me doing 3 colors looked the best, just make sure that you do one color, then the next, then the next, it can look a bit weird if you do them too fast... maybe if they see how nice it can look they will be for it!!
