I need a hem (about 2 inches off the bottom) and you cant see it in the pic- but i did have a clip on the halter part around my neck. It needs to be taken up about 1 inch.

 

My mom's friend is going to do the alterations for me....probably $75-100 if that....

No you cant see through the dress. Its actaully a shadow in the pic. The gap between the lace and the material underneath the dress (smooth silky fabric) is what causes the shadow. I mentioned it to the seamstress and once its fitted properly, it wont do that anymore.
